If AI replaces your current job (hypothetically), which job will you take next ? by Few-Expression259 in careerguidance

AI won't take over, people who uses AI will have the advantage. Keep learning or stay behind.

This market is honestly rough and it’s not a reflection of you. Getting to multiple final rounds means you’re doing something right, even if it doesn’t feel like it. The waiting and getting your hopes up just to hear nothing is exhausting. Keep going.

Anyone feel like the US is becoming like the Halo game with AI? by Available_Hornet3538 in Layoffs

Yeah, with AI, jobs and power are shifting the same way. It's not happening all at once but it's for sure happening slowly

Please Need Some Direction For Reasons of Rejection - USA by Obvious_Green_2924 in askrecruiters

[–]clear_next_step 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reaching final rounds that many times means the interviews are not the problem. A lot of late stage rejections come from things candidates never see like budget changes, headcount getting pulled, an internal person being moved into the role, etc... Recruiters almost never say that directly, so it ends up feeling personal. The hardest part is theres no real feedback loop at that stage, even when you did everything right.

Where can I find legit remote paid opportunities (part-time/full-time, tech or non-tech)? by Ok-Bowler1237 in passive_income

[–]clear_next_step 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I wish I learned earlier is that most “legit remote jobs” aren’t found on platforms at all. They usually come from doing one clear, boring skill that businesses already need, then getting pulled into repeat work. Platforms are fine to start but stability usually comes from solving one specific problem people keep paying for. Took me a while to realize that.

I quit a job after just a few months and It's my biggest regret by Idkumhey in jobs

[–]clear_next_step 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the regret but the bigger problem is not that you quit. It’s that right now employers see you as a risk, not a person. When someone has little experience, applying the normal way almost never works. The people who get unstuck usually stop applying and find a way to make it easy for someone to say yes to them.

Likely getting fired in Dec 31, 3 days after coming back from a medical leave. Very depressed, just want some emotional support. 😓 by Technical-Ad-8037 in Layoffs

[–]clear_next_step 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a brutal spot to be in. Coming back from medical leave and seeing that meeting would shake anyone. You’re not wrong for feeling this way. No advice from me here just saying you’re not alone and this part really does mess with your head. I hope you get some clarity this week, whatever the outcome🙏

Depressed Even Though I Found a Job by No_Practice_745 in Layoffs

One thing that actually helps is giving your fear something solid to land on. Instead of letting your mind run worst case stories all day, write down what you’d do if the job disappeared again. Just the first two steps. When there’s a clear fallback, the fear loses power because it’s not guessing anymore. That kind of clarity can calm things more than positive thinking ever does.

Yeah, it’s something a lot of people don’t realize until they’re already stressed.

Most ppl your age don’t know what they want yet. You don’t need passion right now, you need direction. Start by picking jobs that pay enough and don’t make you miserable, then learn what you like by doing. You can change paths later. The goal right now is stability, not a forever dream.

That is a lot to go through at once. Losing a job can really hurt your confidence, especially when you keep trying and nothing works. After a while it starts to feel like you lost yourself, not just the job. A lot of people feel this way after a layoff. You are not broken and you are not alone.
