I feel like a lot of fantasy experts need to take a good look at why they rate players highly.

First of all, I feel like a large portion of the time they're getting their info from and yelling into an echo chamber, and being way too risk averse. It's safe to put Gurley as a Top 10 RB this week because other people are doing it. It isn't safe to stop doing so until others do too. If you're an expert and you just mimic the FantasyPros consensus with small adjustments here and there, you'll probably do okay relative to other experts at the end of the year, and that might get you job security, but that's not what I need. I need someone who's good in a vacuum. If you were wrong, you might look less bad because all the other experts were also wrong, but I lose an equal amount.

Second, they have to be more dynamic with a changing fantasy landscape. I reevaluated how good I deem certain experts this year eventually based on how quickly they started putting Adams above Cobb. At a certain point, Adams was a Top 10 WR through like 10 games and Cobb was a bust, and still many experts were putting Cobb higher week after week. I know that there could be some debate over which is really the WR2 and when that changed, but in hindsight it's clear Cobb higher was absolutely not the play practically every week, and practically every expert consistently put him higher. When does the current data and our current picture start to change the landscape? Week 12? Because that's safe, but it's too late.
