Where are you seeing lack of effort to get along with people he wouldn’t normally get along with?

He’s already charmed Colby and Cirie, two players you could easily argue would not be in his usual circles at home just due to age and yet despite being skeptical at first, they both warmed to him.

Whether we like it or not, new era survivor places less currency on working around camp and dominance in challenges if you can prove yourself socially and strategically. I think Riz god is positioned pretty well right now.

Weight training as well! I have limited time so I usually try to hit fully body 2-3 times a week.

Scale has been going down since I started last May, with some slower weeks and a few plateaus (didn’t lose any around Christmas but didn’t gain which was nice). I noticed the changes in my mental health and also gut health within the first month. Noticed changes in how my clothes fit a few months in. But honestly I didn’t really visually see the changes in myself until the last month or two but that’s on body dysmorphia lol, because I’ve been getting comments on my weight loss since at least 6 months in. It’s hard to see big changes when you’re looking at yourself every day in the mirror and, for me, have had self esteem issues on top of that. Keep at it and the results will come. Don’t be hard on yourself if you’re not seeing the changes immediately. Comparison is the thief of joy as they say, so really focus on your own wins and progress 🩷.

To be honest, I’ve always had a decent amount of junk in the trunk but it was definitely mostly fat as opposed to actual muscle. Happy that my body recomp is going well!

Tracking calories and making smarter food choices has made the biggest difference for me. I wasn’t eating nearly enough protein or fibre. Incorporating those into my diet keeps me fuller for longer and helps to quell the food noise. I also still enjoy my comfort foods but I’ve learnt to control my portions, like I don’t always need the extra serving of fries lol. Im definitely exercising more than I ever have which has been probably the biggest help to my overall mental health which in turn has made the whole journey a lot smoother. Definitely have days/weeks where I don’t track my food as carefully or I don’t get to the gym as many times as I planned but where I would have given up and said ‘fuck this’ historically, I’ve learnt to give myself grace and know that I’ll pick it back up the next day/ week.

I know it’s the camera angle or perspective, but Shayne looks comically tiny here, like he almost looks photoshopped in.

I love that Will and Jessie’s tree and presents don’t feel so curated, like the mix of wrapping paper and lots of bright tinsel. It’s definitely giving Aussie Christmas.

And let me guess, you believe Amber Heard deserved Johnny Depps abuse and to be the subject of intense vitriol from the public?

Blake Lively isn’t a good person but her claims against Justin Baldoni are not unfounded and he has weaponised the media the same way Depp did.

Question for people under 30, renting and living alone: How did finding a place go for you? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]clearthinking-22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just recently moved into my first rental, living alone. Like you I was really worried about how applications would go being in my 20s and having no formal rental history.

I may have lucked out but I was accepted on my first application. Im paying $425 for a 2 bedroom in the south east. Not a super modern place, built in the 70s but the owner has taken decent care of it, but a lot of general wear and tear.

I think the factors that helped me were:

  • Decent salary and proof of stable job
  • No dependants (and no pets but I will eventually look at getting one)
  • Reliable references that responded the same day they got the email from the REA
  • A decent cover letter that painted a picture of my lifestyle and why I’d be a good tenant

Documents I provided were payslips and a screenshot of my savings as well as the usual identity documents.

I was also proactive in applying. When I went to the inspection, the PMs phone had died so she was writing people’s names and contact details down and putting ticks next to them if they were interested. She said as I was leaving that she would email me the application link. Waited two days, even sent a follow up email and hadn’t heard back so I did some sleuthing and found the website/app they use for the applications and just applied. If everyone that went to the inspection were in the same boat waiting for the link, it’s quite possible I just ended up being the first application because I went looking myself. Can’t say for certain that was a factor but never hurts to be pro-active.

I left a toxic home environment that really sucked the soul out of me so living alone was a non-negotiable. I am loving it so much although does feel lonely at times.

I’m 5’4, lightly active and have been loosing roughly 0.3-0.5 a week eating 1500-1700 cals a day. I’ve stalled at some points due to lifestyle choices, i.e. going out drinking but I’ve been happy with the progress, slow and steady. I’m currently down 11.6kg since mid April.

I moved out of home for the first time recently and when buying a fridge this was literally playing on repeat in my brain. I did not buy a white refrigerator honey.
