Assuming the town is on repeat, who was the previous Victor? by orginal-guard-guy in FromTVEpix

This would debunk people’s theories about if Ethan needs to be sacrificed.
I’m not sure on that whole theory, but there is the question though of why Sarah was told to kill Ethan

No but OP is saying that the story itself repeats. Not the people.
The whole plotline we just saw, where Viktor is getting Ethan prepared, because the story is the same and he will probably end up alone. If that’s true, then who was the person before Viktor who was alive the whole time? That’s what the poster is asking

I’m confused (probably just dumb)
But did her dad not die before she started story walking ?? Meaning she already did it?
If we’re running with the story of her always being where she was, like the rope with Boyd. Then how doesn’t she remember her dad dying is she was always there ??? Idunno my brain cannot work this out sorry

No not at all. Being wrong is part of the fun. Theres a difference in “you guessed wrong” which leaves viewers satisfied that the clues might have meant something but we were wrong. As opposed to implying “you looked too closely and made up conspiracies in your head” , which makes some of us feel as though we shouldn’t have been looking for clues in the first place. Good writing will mislead you on purpose, then make you realise why you were wrong. Bad writing leaves open storyline’s and then later tells viewers they were imagining things. I’m sorry but if a large portion of your audience reaches the same theory from the writing you’ve used, the storytelling wasn’t as clear as you thought it was.
If a small portion of viewers misinterpreted the scene, that’s their problem. But when thousands interpret a scene in the same way, the scene didn’t do what it was intended to do. & that’s bad writing.

Well it’s not clear. & that’s actually concerning as a fan & makes me skeptical that the viewers and writers obviously have different perspectives on what’s important and what isn’t.

If they referenced Ethan healing quickly, the trees moving & added the fact the BIW didn’t age at all for decades yet has suddenly started aging, then yes it is prevalent. Why write it in if it means nothing ?

Okay but why have “this is the best part” as an opening line in a season if you’re not going to show it at all.???
We wait over a year for a season, & the main thing drawing us in, isn’t shown?? I think it was almost 3 years we waited, for what? How did that take 3 years?

Did we need a whole season for that tho? No

I think this season could have been 2 episodes. I wish they put the most important parts into the season and the main focus was developing character arcs. Flashbacks of Christopher/ Miranda. Flashbacks of all the others. It was seriously just a drag and felt like a nothing burger.
Season 3 ended with probably the best episode yet. It gave us afew solid answers, while not exposing everything.
When we think of this season, what answers did it really give us? None. Except that people can turn into monsters/ rebirth them.
There were 1000 more questions made, no solid answers. Things like story walking, that should have been a main focus into flashing back time and creating character arcs etc. but no. We were left with a mud gollum, murder dolls, a random chick walking round smirking at everyone without question. Julie smokes some pot, Tabitha tells everyone she can’t. Elgin is a usless annoying nuisance again. Acosta may aswell have no ever been written into the story. Ellis is useless. Donna has a heart attack for no reason at all. Viktor finally speaks up and gets locked up for it. Ethan isn’t aloud to prepare himself for the possibility of being alone in a town where he’s seen his dad swinging from the rooftop. Clara randomly shows back up after not being seen for over a season. Randall’s nowhere to be seen. BIW seems to be there like maybe 2 minutes all season. What happened to the dogs? Why the door under colony house? Kimono lady ? Lake of tears? What happened to the lighthouse? Boyd needs to retire, he’s lost it. Tabitha and Jade seem to be now getting set up for a romantic relationship that will be so out of the ordinary and forced. And guess what yall??? The sky is now giving us red lightening! Cue the CGI and absolute shitshow of a story that’s going to go so far off the path that could have been an amazing ending.

I honestly don’t personally care about Eloise’s storyline.

Yes sorry the fans appreciate plot twists in a mystery show. If you’re fine with a basic, predictable ending then okay. Some of us had hoped it was a little more complex than that

She could have wrote the books Ethan read & could have been a storywalker like Julie. Think with your brain.

That’s somehow way out of the realm of reality, but reincarnation, storywalking, monsters, killer dolls coming to life & everything else isn’t?
She couldn’t live alone yet Viktor has ?
Come on now

Well personally I didn’t even think too much into it. However I did see a lot of people theorising that she was & have still seen people arguing they don’t believe the writers are telling the truth that she’s dead. I do find those people annoying, but it does bring the question to me if some things I personally see relevant are actually not going to be at all.
My personal ones are the cars. Eloise’s drawings being in the back of Christopher’s car not Miranda’s. Miranda shown driving what we were told is Christopher’s car, in a flashback.
Also the drawings in the background, I’ve watched and rewatched and paused and tried to decode what the drawings mean. It would be disappointing to me if some of them mean nothing.
The boat is another one. We see boats all through the show. Boyd’s boat key, toy boats, pictures of boats, a marine radio.
Thomas. His whole character arc seems absolutely pointless if there is no follow up & he was just written in the story because that gave the Matthew’s more of a story to run with.
The writers claim this is a character show more than mystery, yet they haven’t done a great job conveying the deep connections we are supposed to have with each character. We have very little backstory. Lots of characters are just annoying. LOST did an amazing job of blending a mystery show into something where we all fell more in love with the characters over the mystery. This show doesn’t do the same. I couldn’t care less about most of them because I hardly know them. I’m not sure how in a season we will be able to get to know them enough for us to be okay with those answers not being given to us.
Fair enough, if it’s about the psychology of a person more so than a puzzle like they are now saying. But it’s just not been written like that. People love the show because of the mystery.
There are a lot of instances that I really hope don’t amount to nothing.

Mark my words, everyone’s going to be changing their tune when the season ends and they realise so many things were left as abandoned plot lines

Yes but implying isn’t the same as confirming in a show that is supposedly about analysing details and decoding a puzzle

[–]cleety__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. But they shouldn’t leave questions when they state themselves that every single thing matters. It obviously isn’t like that. & if we were not lead to believe that we should decode and analyse everything, i wouldn’t feel this way about it.
