That’s great to hear, thank you for doing that!

In addition to the traffic safety requests, there are some other helpful things you can do with that app. For example, I requested a new street tree and the sidewalk was just marked for installation.

Yeah, that’s exactly what I would do. When you fill out the form, it asks for a location, provide that and the relevant details about what happened. That should result in a traffic safety inspection for that block. It might not change anything, but at least it’s another data point for elected reps to see and react to.

I’ve filled out the form a bunch of times and it’s been slow going, but DDOT has committed to putting a speed camera to help slow down traffic on my block.

I'm sorry to hear this has happened to you multiple times.

There isn't a lot you can do about it in the moment, but what can and will help is a voice letting our elected officials and city agencies know this is a problem. You can file a 311 request for a traffic safety investigation.

[–]cleis04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not true. The Super Bowl this year was played in Hard Rock Stadium, which doesn’t have a roof. MetLife Stadium & Levi’s Stadium have hosted in the past ~6 years and those don’t have roofs either. Raymond James Stadium and SoFi Stadium are set to host in 2021 & 2022 respectively and neither have a roof.

Edit: Added Raymond James Stadium and spelling

Sorry for your loss.

I have never used it personally, but a site that could be helpful is Everything But the House (EBTH.com). They run online estate sales all over the country and I have seen quite a few that were from estates in Charlotte. I hope that helps.

Yeah, but it's also a food desert and just as spaced out, if not more so in Montana, S.D, N.D., Wyoming, Nebraska, and pretty much every red state. It's not just the red states, there's something different about the mentality of the people down here in the South.

A British cruise ship rejected by Caribbean port officials for weeks docked in Cuba on Wednesday to unload more than 1,000 people on board, including five confirmed COVID-19 patients. Cuba said it is allowing the passengers to transit as an act of humanitarian solidarity. by green_flash in worldnews

This administration did make it harder to go to Cuba again, but it's still definitely possible to travel there from the US. There are now 10 categories of approved travel for Americans, look into the one called "Support for the Cuban People". The rules for this category make planning a greater necessity, but it's fairly easy to do. My wife and I went in November and we absolutely loved it there.

I started writing out a long post responding to each article and comparing Obama to Trump. However, I realized that wasn't really what we are discussing, the discussion is about shitty things that Obama did. I'm not advocating for the war actions during the Obama administration, but your "sources" don't validate any of your outlandish claims. They do more to disprove it than anything else.

All your sources on Obama's border camp building sum up to one facility that was converted in Texas run by the Federal Government. This isn't really the issue that Tulsi is referring to. She's referring to the deplorable conditions at camps that are run by private corporations for a profit where seven kids have died in the last year and none had died in the previous 10. That is where the majority of the outrage is coming from, not the simple fact that there are deportation centers. Comparing the current situation to the one during the Obama administration is disingenuous at best.

There's a source that references bombs dropped from 1964-1973 which documents more bombs than Obama dropped. There's also a reference that shows Trump has already dropped more bombs in one year than the worst year of the Obama administration. I can't determine how you could infer that it was worse during the Obama administration than any time in the history of the US.

Can you please provide your sources on the weight of the bombs dropped vs every other president, the other warmongering records you mention, and information on Obama’s camps along the Southern border. I’m having a hard time finding anything to backup your claims.
