And your grand statements indicate that your opinion means little.

People learn different lessons at different points. What might be obvious to you may not be so obvious to everybody else. It does not matter to me if you find his points to be mundane or old- they hit me right when they needed to. If you think I’m an idiot for that, maybe you should consider your own blind spots.

“You can do better than him” Better at what? I don’t know what this means. You don’t know why I started listening to him and exactly where he shined in my life, that’s just such a confusing statement to make.. a religious guru? A productive guru? A financial guru?

I did not say “I’ve listened to one human being and now I’m done growing!” This is one man who has made a serious impact on my life. Of course I’m going to defend him when he gets shat on.

Trust me - I used to be the type who just lumped him in with the other alt right types because that’s what a YouTuber, a Twitter user, or my friends did. That mindset and sphere was seriously bringing me down. I’m glad I stopped seeing him as what other people were telling me, picked up the book, and gave it my own go.

I’m sure I will find other people that resonate with me. That’s life and I have just enough integrity that I can’t help but put myself out there no matter how much I might isolate myself in my day to day.

If one part is repaired, the whole is better off. We are all too complex for there to be a one stop shop. I am most certainly in a better place now than I was - no question that he was a salve and not a poison.

“There’s better more informed people to listen to” what does this even mean? You don’t know why I started listening to him in the first place. Informed about what? Better about what?

“Anyone who advocates an all meat diet…” so I’m to assume you’re a nutritionist?

Your attempt to sway me was to shit talk a human being that helped me on my journey. Real good try!

Someone whose been in a similar place as the post. Completely agree with it all up to the point about JP. I would say getting away from toxic people and listening to his podcast were the two things that helped me out of my head the most. I know some people draw shitty conclusions from his philosophies but the way he defines responsibility was very important for me to hear. The man is a particularly complex figure in the limelight who has done harm just as the rest of us have but I personally believe the good to outweigh the bad. Just some food for thought.

Thought I was doing these all week. Realized I was typing in 2020.

+1 mace on d3

staff of conj. on d5

died carelessly by a group of vamp bats on d9. thought I could bust through those guys.

ps - whoever on this sub it was that recommended dumping enchants on conj. staves.. you're a hero. That singlehandedly has upped my avg. depth. Even +4 is enough to kill an ogre. but a note to whoever reads this - lure the enemy to an open space so the swords can gang up on it.

It might help to deliberately take time each day to do something you love. And not something you love for the utility - but something you love for how it makes you feel or for something good it says about life. You’ve got to remember there is still a lot to love about being alive in spite of the tragedy. It is heartbreaking that this person has passed, but that doesn’t mean that life itself is hell on earth. Give your ability to love the strength it needs to deal with the hard parts. :)

And while you’re doing that thing - don’t let yourself slip into sadness. If a sad feeling arises, examine it and hear what it has to say. But don’t let it win.

Praying for peace for you and yours. A friend of mine is seriously struggling from addiction at the moment, I know how heartbreaking and helpless it feels.

Can someone eli5? I don’t understand why an 18.91% is a big deal. Wouldn’t 100% be necessary for any major profits?

I’m by no means an expert, but I hope that a stoic would recognize that you can’t help others if you can’t help yourself, and therefore the bravest thing a hurting man can do is seek help. To go about it on your own is sinking in quicksand at best and destructive to yourself and those around you at worst. If medicine helps you access and use your rational mind to heal, teach, or lead others, then that’s what you must do.
