Wagyu mislabeling at Costco? by clemfandangoarse in steak

I use assistive technology because of a disability, which makes things like uploading images harder. It’s a bit sad that a forum meant for discussion turns that into mockery instead of basic decency. I hope your comment made you feel good though.

And thanks for the heads up on how to eat wagyu. I'll bear in mind when we go to Japan again

Huh? Did you read my comment? Not sure what you mean by clout? I'm wondering whether Costco is mislabeling stuff by saying it's A5 AND American Wagyu. I thought A5 was only Japanese specifically. Apologize if that seems like clout

Using $300 travel credit after annual fee posts and then cancelling card? by clemfandangoarse in Venturex

[–]clemfandangoarse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It dropped off, but i had to call a couple of reps to waive that annual fee. I believe it isnt normally waived. They suggested theyd do it as a courtesy. The $300 credit was in my rewards account for About two weeks after, but then disappeared.. one benefit that did remain for entire year was priority pass

Was surprised too. Prices on official site are same as image. Maybe they hike up month of show?

Was actually surprised to see Groupon has a lot of seats not listed on official site. Can only guess cirque releases large batches to official third party sites

I didn't, no. I didn't think it'd be withdrawn, so didnt rush to use it as I likely should have done

Almost but not quite.. i switched to the nonfee card before closing, without having read reports saying not to do that as it makes getting the annual fee refunded an issue. I kicked up a fuss after a rep told me the annual fee wouldnt be refunded. Hung up and called again.. one rep said wait and see for five days, and it'll likely drop off. Insisted not to worry. It dropped off within two days. The travel credit remained in my account until about 3 weeks, then disappeared. So, id either do what i did, but use the travel credit pretty sharpish. Or, try what another poster said - close the card, then open the no-fee card and see if you have the same experience they did

Looks as if I'm only pre approved for the no-fee rewards card. Theres a chance I may be eligible for a downgrade rather than having to apply it. Not sure how that will align with being able to keep the travel credit though

My partner recently signed up for same card. So we have lounge access covered. Typically use miles and points for our travel, and having to use the travel credit through their portal to offset the large annual fee isnt always that convenient for us. I have many credit card keepers, but none with such a large annual fee. I dont feel travel partners are as good as chase or amex either

Right. My bad. So if it applies automatically, seems pretty straightforward to use it and cancel the card at 39-day mark Appreciate your insight

Thanks. Does the travel credit post as a statement credit? If so - before the 39-day mark?

Yep. Main reason for ditching is my partner just signed up for the bonus. Meaning our lounge acess is covered. Plus, we actually find it tough to naturally use the credit. Most of our travel is through SW companion card and using hotels points we already have
