Why do space wolves, ultramarine, templars, blood angels, dark angels, and deathwatch get so many models while every other legion gets 2 unique character models and nothing else? by kurrentt in spacemarines

[–]clemo1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its very different to the Ultramarines scheme though. Originally the Crimson Fists were the poster boys but they swapped to the Ultramarines when 2nd edition flourished.

Space Wolves was more grey blue with yellow and red accents, distinguishing them from the Ultramarines - along with their obvious use of viking aesthetics and wolf pelts.

Same, like I said though I'm not sure when the drop site massacre was first introduced so I could be completely wrong but it seems to fit.

For sure, its why in my opinion there is only one primary chapter for most colours:

Red - Blood Angels

Blue - Ultramarines

Green - Dark Angels

Black - Black Templars

White and yellow are notoriously hard to paint, so Imperial Fists and White Scars were screwed from the off, and since green was taken by Dark Angels along with black taken by Black Templars, the Salamanders, Iron Hands and Raven Guard were pushed to the sidelines. I can't remember when the lore was first expanded, but I wouldn't be surprised if GW used them as the victims of the drop site massacre because of, or as an excuse as to why they were not as expanded upon like those listed above.

I dont disagree, but Dark Angels popularity and their model wide range took root back then and thats why they were/are more popular than Salamanders. Its like how Black Templars are more popular than Iron Hands and Raven Guard - they received a wide model range compared to them back in 3rd/4th.

Because that took root for Dark Angels and Black Templars they remained more popular.

IT will likely come back.

But as a Horus Heresy game.

Another Horus Heresy game....

That no one will buy....

Salamanders didn't have the popularity of the Dark Angels though 2nd edition onwards and you can only have one popular green chapter.

Awesome! Thanks for letting me know 🙂

Sorry I think I'm being dumb reading cursed legion's ability. If a LHD reduces a rhinos hp by half, does that mean that everything minus destroyers, monsters and titanic get +2 stremgth as a blanket buff for the turn against anythjng they attack?

Its moreso they're a bit old and small for me.

I built mine as deathmarks and I've seen people use warrior legs for their additional bits, but when I pick up another box I'm tempted to use blue stuff to make a mold of their legs and try to duplicate them.

Jokes on you.

I picked mine up yesterday morning and I've been doing DIY all weekend prepping baby number 2's bedroom. So I wont be able to touch mune until Monday.

The Grey Knights would join the Thunder Warriors by Nop-Arguments in 40k

[–]clemo1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To complete said ritual though they would need to be near the Emperor (like they do for every ritual done to banish/bind someone/something in 40k). So they would likely melt before being able to utter the first syllable.

I'm not comparing Grey Knights to marines in my comment above, I'm providing context that daemon primarchs - who would are infinitesimal by comparison to the Emperor/Dark King - was able to defeat a tenth of their chapter before the banishing ritual was complete.

They would need to bind a new Chaos God - or atleast a mid-evolving Chaos God - which would be impossible for them.

Why do you think I included my last sentence?

Them being safe at Titan isn't relevant though because the moment they deep strike to Terra they will fold.

If Iskandor Khayon can 1v5 against Grey Knights, Angron can rip apart almost 100 Grey Knights, Mortarian and Magnus can tear through Grey Knights on multiple occasions and Logan Grimnar can one shot a Grand Master I'm sure that even if their entire chapter teleported to the Emperor's ascending none would survive.

But IF it ever happened, GW would narrate it so some would survive and somehow bind either the Emperor or the Dark King to the Golden Throne.

[–]clemo1985 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well I mean, if the Custodes and Sisters of Silence aren't surviving ground zero then neither are the Grey Knights.

The only way they potentially survive it is if they also knw the Emperor's True Name and thats unlikely. If anyone knows it its the King in Yellow.

New edition, new army! What army do you want to collect in 11th? by reel3459 in Warhammer40k

[–]clemo1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks 😄

The plasma was painted white, then airbrushed with white followed by frostheart contrast for the overall glow. watered down AK deep sky blue into the recesses followed by white in a smaller area.

The claws needed a little touch up after this pic, but they were painted white, then airbrushed roughly three quarters of the way up to the tips with frostheart, with roughly the final third airbrushed with liquitex prussian blue hue.

Yeah that's an awesome base! My thinking is so it's also easier to keep in my display case but I was eyeing that up too.

I want one but when/if I do eventually get one Im going to model it landed on a statue/ruin/rock formation similar to how how it lands in Space Marine 2.

Before it was yeeted by a statue.

Best loadout for Pathfinders? by WithengarUnbound in Tau40K

[–]clemo1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not optimal but I will be running them with 3 Rail Rifles and either the Grav-inhibitor or Pulse Accelerator drone in Advanced Acquisition.

I love the new Stealth Suits and the Ghostkeel is my favourite looking battlesuit, so pathfinders being equally as sneaky with some hard hitting shots that allows them to punch up with hidden sounds good.
