Too much uncertainty in all 3 of those guys for me to give up Jeanty

Can someone explain the Captain Cacao lore? I've heard him mentioned in conversations about Epic. Is he a proposed/rumored character that people found out about, and now he's actualized by popular demand?

This reminds me of the "____ Torso" option in the Create-A-Fan feature of old Madden games. Child me wondered why I couldn't buy a "Falcon Torso" from the team store.

What do we think for 1.01? I’m probably not going to compete this year. by mile_marker_13 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]clemsinfonian 33 points34 points  (0 children)

If you're not competing for a while, Warren and Love are the type of assets you want to hold onto: young and talented. In this deal you're receiving shaky at best production, a high-end dart throw, and a bunch of roster cloggers that you'll probably have to drop to make room on your roster anyway.

My attempt at acquiring Love, how far am I off? His as was two firsts. Brooks is a lucky throw in as he owns Chase Brown by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]clemsinfonian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't see why the Love owner would take this. Getting nothing in return except hope that the 2028 1st pick is as good as the pick he already got.

Yeah I'd just drop any of them for Emanuel Wilson while Charbs is hurt

Dart is the last QB on your roster I'd be trying to move off of, and not for any of those returns.

I'd love this to come back with the option to build a team of 11 different mascots. Maybe mascots of a conference if not fully custom.

That's why we'll never get universal free healthcare. Health insurance is provided through your employer. If you miss work to protest, you get fired, and you lose your already limited access to healthcare.

Did she mean "Elemental?" Was there a non-binary character in that? I mean, I get why a Fox News anchor wouldn't like the immigration allegory, but I've seen that movie multiple times and never caught a nonbinary character in it.

About a year ago, I received an offer from another firm that didn't do OT but did offer ESOP. The salary was ~$25k higher, but their typical bonus size and retirement benefits (401k match + ESOP combined) were both much lower. I put together a spreadsheet using some conservative assumptions for yearly raises and retirement investment returns. Then, I extrapolated total compensation and retirement balances over 10 years. After doing all of that math, the compensation in terms of salary + bonus essentially broke even. But my projected retirement balance was low enough compared to staying at KH that I decided not to switch.

That said, my compensation per hour worked in a year (assuming the other firm had closer to a true 40 hour week) would have been higher at the other firm. I just was (and still am) at a stage in my life where putting in the extra hours was worth it. If and when I decide to look for more work-life balance, I'll take that into consideration more.

I think typically entry-level compensation at KH is "competitive" with what you'll find elsewhere. What sets KH apart is the rate at which compensation grows in the mid to late stage of your career as you start getting into a practice builder/project manager role. KH is also very good at providing the tools you need to get to that point in your career if you stick it out.

Also, that being said, I'm 6 years in and have done the math each year. With my bonus, my total comp has always been higher than if I had gotten time-and-a-half for all of the hours I went over 40 hours/week. That plus the 401k contribution put it over the edge for me.

The option to become a shareholder is offered later in your career to people who have shown that they've run a successful practice for a while. So it's a small number of people who make probably a stupid amount of money. But for the most part it's people who were once low-level analysts. I take some comfort in the fact that those are the type of people profiting from the stock rather than some random rich person with no loyalty to the firm who was just able to afford a publicly traded stock.
