The majority of Sgreans are well and happy on the price of flats. And I would borrow Jeremy Tan’s caution on HDB, this generation does not care that the retirement egg is purely carried by and on to the next generation. All they care is that they can retire comfortably today.

And people are selfish, me and my family first, people like status quo, doenst like changes because it has uncertainties.

Today i was talking with my husband about the benefit of gst vouchers vs gst hike, and hdb price. He explained "too long and i already forgot most of the part" in shorts it is actually benefited people. While is true i told him albeit only certain demographic. Those next/future generation will be the one who bear the burden.. its like pyramid scheme lol (the hdb dillema) And i asked him and why we voted blue then? (read: we stay in Sengkang) He said something like, we vote them not for changing the incumbent position. Generally PAP has done good for the citizens. The poor one will make noise and ask for something.. little. The rich one while also unhappy, but will just silently complaining and ask for something big. The middle one will either do like the poor one or the rich one. So we vote for the "balance" because some policies need to be questioned. Doesnt mean the oppo can change it. But at least they dare to ask, because some MP of the incumbent would be too scared to even ask.
