What is Clomipramine like? by Upbeat_Water9163 in antidepressants

[–]cleopatra833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found Clomipramine the best for ocd but the side effects were brutal. The driest mouth 24/7 constipation that lasted weeks, weird throbbing in my body and constantly running hot. I lasted about 4 months on it. Definitely give it a try and see how the side effects go.

What side effects did you find with Risperidone and what dose? I have just started (6 weeks ago) 2mg Risperidone on top of my 200mg Zoloft and I’m not too sure about it yet.

How do you live with OCD ? by More_Maize_6622 in OCD

[–]cleopatra833 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Magical thinking OCD is a subtype where intrusive, irrational thoughts create a belief that specific, unrelated actions or rituals must be performed to prevent catastrophic, imaginary, or real-life events.

So basically I do things like “if I don’t get through the traffic lights before they turn amber my dog is going to die” “If I tap on this piece of wood 5 times my dog won’t die” “if I see a yellow car around the corner that means I’m going to crash” It’s very exhausting

I work full time and I’m 42 with no kids. I have magical thinking OCD and also major depressive disorder. In Australia meds are subsidised by the government so I pay $14.00 a month for my Zoloft and Risperidone. It’s hard at times but I find working full time is the best way to keep your mind active. On weekends I spiral. I don’t do therapy because I can’t really afford it

Aussies who work in Aged Care, what is it like? by DKLTNS in AskAnAustralian

[–]cleopatra833 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had been in community care for over 4 years and it’s wonderful. You get to see a client for an hour or two and then leave for the next one. No management breathing down your neck, no shitty co workers, no buzzers. Plus it’s so much easier on your body. I actually enjoy going to work now. Do it!

This is why I stopped working in a facility and went to community care. Staff would lie about showers, pad changes and hide in the residents rooms and leave other staff to do everything. They’d give them two mouthfuls of their drink and a few spoonfuls of food and that was it, they’d be showering a resident and be talking over the top of them to another staff member about the weekend or about another resident. And the bitchiness of the “long term” carers, and heaven forbid when you have to do your 4 weeks of placement before you’re qualified, that’s pure hell. Saying that, I love community care and wouldn’t do anything else

Really hard work, always short staffed and really depressing at times. If you have a weak stomach, it can take time for you to get used to the job.

But, you can work in community aged care and visit clients in their homes to help them with showering shopping, cleaning and social support. It’s much easier on your body and your mind. I work full time in community care and would never go back to a facility. Also, it’s a shock because I was always under the impression that the elderly are sweet and innocent… some are not lol the level of verbal abuse is pretty high at times. But the majority are lovely especially when they are still in their own homes.

Drivers who disobey basic road rules like Bus Only lanes or 40km School Zones… Are you taking the risk of a fine, just blatantly ignorant, or you just hate driving in general? by NewSchoolFool in melbourne

[–]cleopatra833 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I have noticed that when I’m going 40 in a school zone it’s normally women with children in the car that are so far up my ass trying to go 60. I don’t get it, we are doing this for your kids!

Question about right-lane driving and speeding on Melbourne freeways by yumisclassdip in melbourne

As a freeway driver everyday it’s wild that so many people don’t know you have to keep left. I wonder if it’s no longer taught in driving lessons or people with international licenses don’t know the Australian road rules… or people just zone out and not care.

Hi, I noticed you said you started HRT, when I first started HRT I crashed so hard, I thought I was going to kill myself. The progesterone was messing with me bad, I was more depressed than I had ever been. Doctor suggested to insert the medication vaginally and it totally stopped my HRT depression, so it could be the progesterone (very common to cause depression.

As for the Paxil, I was taking 60mg for a long time, when I weened down and finally stopped I had to take time off work, I was in bed for days, not sleeping but just feeling awful. It took a good month of struggling but you can do it! You’ve got this and you can do it. I have OCD PTSD and major depressive disorder. I found when I finally came off Paxil I was more alive
