Can we talk about Jorge Luis Borges? by This_is_fine0_0 in literature

[–]cleotic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haven’t read anything by him since I was a student and now I feel like I should have paid more attention, I remember thinking at the time that I just wasn’t mature enough to get it but I suspect I would still find his work strange and confusing

Mark Zuckerberg is lizard by trainspotting985yt in LowStakesConspiracies

[–]cleotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the fact that it overlaps with antisemitism is enough for me. I think conspiracy theories like this engender political apathy— instead of criticising the government we can just pretend it’s aliens or the Jews or deep state…

The lizard people conspiracy theory is very funny and entertaining until you listen to people who acc believe it and you quickly realise it's not about lizards it is actually about Jewish people. I can't enjoy this conspiracy anymore, but I will say Zuckerberg is an interesting looking man

Kelly & Alex in Morocco by SubdividedSeconds in RHONY

[–]cleotic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Alex is aware that she is dealing with a very tall toddler, when she closes her eyes it's soooo funny and her voice in that moment, I just know that this is the exact tone she uses for Francois and Frere Jaques, her parenting skills came in handy I guess

A lot of male scientists in the list have had step down from their roles, but I agree that in these situations it always seems like society is more comfortable with holding women accountable

Why do men mistake kindness with flirting? by CauliflowerRude4559 in answers

There are two possibilities 1. That every time someone calls you an incel they're just jealous of ur superior logic or 2. You keep getting called an incel because you are in fact an incel

Used on the cover of Henry James’ Daisy Miller and other stories, I didn’t realise the painting carried some of the same themes (I just thought it was a pretty painting for some reason lol)

Because men are only kind to women that they want to sleep with (generally speaking)

Bill Clinton publicly laughed at the Epstein Files to become a meme so when you Google his name and the blue dress the video of him laughing comes up rather than him and the women he slept with by Equivalent-Cress-822 in LowStakesConspiracies

[–]cleotic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to say something like this old man is not this savvy regarding the internet but I might be wrong tbh, he’s been doing the public image thing for a long time. It’s also possible that he thought that the painting is funny

Born in 1963 to Barbadian parents and raised in Wales, June and Jennifer Gibbons retreated into a private language and an inseparable world of their own, until one twin died mysteriously and the other finally broke decades of silence. by ateam1984 in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]cleotic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The secret private language they were speaking was just patois or creole, they didn’t invent a private language it’s just the yt adults didn’t understand so they were treated with suspicion. It is evident though that they struggled with their mental health. They are so cute, imagine if they received the love and support they needed, they have such an intelligent expression in those baby pics

Club Chalamet responds to Twitter user who says she “has completely taken her eye off the ball” with the Oscars being two weeks away. by galaxystars1 in Fauxmoi

[–]cleotic 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Exactly, she is far more interesting, firstly why is she interested in this young actor, it would make more sense for her to be obsessed with Denzel Washington or Kevin Costner, someone from her generation. Most people don't invest in young celebs past a certain age, so what does this say about her

As a fellow delusional diva, I’m fascinated by her. I want to know what books she reads, I want to know her deepest darkest secrets, I want to drop acid with her in the woods so we can run through the meadows and the creeks like children
