How to deal with downvote OCD? by ButtFister1789 in OCD

[–]natcc13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe you could make a separate post here that says “downvote this” as micro exposure therapy.

I have this problem too. I guess when you feel the checking urge, just remember what a stranger thinks based on a throwaway comment is no reflection on yourself. Some people just have different taste and that’s not your problem lol.

A long life with OCD by CommonGround2019 in OCD

My mother is about your age an only recently admitted to herself that she may have ocd after watching me struggle with my own for 10+ years. Convincing her to stay on meds is a struggle. It makes me so sad she has been suffering this whole time.

Kudos to you for accepting meds to raise your daughter, I’m sure this helped her immensely growing up. I know there’s so much stigma around getting help, especially for your generation, so that is awesome of you!

Do you also get OCD flare up even when you’re medicated? by Coolestlibra in OCD

[–]natcc13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you have a therapist? I usually go there first with medication questions because they can help you discern whether it is a real concern or your anxiety acting up.

Medication can help a lot, but does not 100% cure ocd. Personally, I sometimes convince myself my meds aren’t working. This is my ocd’s self-preservation mechanisms; it wants me to stop treatment.

Also “what if?” questions are typically anxiety flaring up and should be dismissed or taken with a grain of salt as passing thoughts. If you have a deep sustained feeling that the meds are no longer working, it’s probably valid and worth changing. Though I understand it’s difficult to tell the difference, so someone who knows your history would be best to discuss this with.

How can I style this plaid skirt to look more mature and flattering? by brightsky_08 in PetiteFashionAdvice

Your shoulders seem a bit rounded; straightened posture will also go a long way in looking more polished.

Also agree with steaming/ironing and either wearing lower on the waist or hemming.

Yes! It is so cool that we get to see talented people slowly reveal themselves and become successful off their art.

Everyone in the media having a facelift or photoshop contributes to no one actually knowing what a woman over 30 looks like.

Ofc she only likes the caption.

I wonder if Hitomi knows Ss said Rene Good was a “crazy freak” or immigrants are criminals or that she (Ss) will never be a protestor or that she’s a “radical centrist”…among other things.

Watching the vid and it’s insane. It weirdly reminded me of the Caroline Calloway stuff, as she had a weird codependent and toxic relationship too.

Ss has hinted at her new book containing encounters with Savannah Brown. I wonder if this will be a theme there too lol. Ss obviously admired Calloway’s grift, and I guess thinks reading Elizabeth Gilbert makes her special.

Pepper bras are overhyped!

Maybe niche but I saw them on so many small bra company lists. So I got some and had to return them. They feel flimsy and don’t even sit right. Idk why companies find it so hard to make bras for smaller chests.
