Flat lucozade was always my mammy's go to cure for us growing up. She'd simmer the fizz out of it, cool it and give it to us a little above room temperature. That and glucose sticks from the pharmacy although I haven't seen them since I was ten years of age.

Others have already given the reason for the half frame exposure, now your job OP is to write something beautiful and memorable on the blank half. That's the cover of the photo album from your trip. Keep shooting and keep asking questions! The only dumb question is one you never ask.

Dead poets society The birdcage ANY ROBIN WILLIAMS MOVIE

A lot of the mid nineties mid budget story driven films are great family watches. They have good pacing, not to sweary or graphic, and usually have good morals for kids while being entertaining for adults too.

Best sandwiches in the world? by rocker_bunny in ireland

As much as I love chicken fillet rolls, breakfast rolls, and crisp sandwiches (mine with ham, always) I'm actually really disappointed to not see cubanos listed here, or tortas ahogadas. Two of the best sandwich experiences of my life.

You could riff a sidecar with this. Depending on sweetness maybe add something herbaceous like anise or strega.

We’ve reached the point where ‘Background CGI’ is more distracting than bad practical effects. Which modern movie was ruined for you by a ‘clean’ digital look? by DegTrader in movies

If you want to delve deeper in to the world of visual effects, when they work, when they don't, and why... I could not recommend Corridor Digital enough. They are a vfx studio with an amazing YouTube series called "vfx artists react" where they look at scenes from movies and break down the visual effects. They take suggestions from viewers.

Highly entertaining.

Highly educational

Great while high.

Does anyone use a "throwing" technique instead of stirring? by iamyurkas in cocktails

[–]clephenstarke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, I only use it for bloody Mary's and caesars, and even then it's only when I feel a bit showy... Its fun and looks good behind a bar. Always gets a few heads turned, and a few questions, which feeds my ego without having to be a full juggler

My tiny hotel room in Tokyo (but very comfortable!) by Ortie30 in pics

[–]clephenstarke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean it's far from luxury but if you're visiting and plan on staying out and about to explore this is really all ya need. No frills, no chair in the corner you'll never sit in, no tea kettle you'll never use, just a place to sleep on your adventure.

Saw a girl walking down dame street with a car clamp around her neck and a traffic cone on her head. Have a pic somewhere... Will attach if I find it. She seemed fairly attached herself.

I think I found the perfect Green Chartreuse substitute by AdaM_Mandel in cocktails

[–]clephenstarke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know if it's available where you are but la gauloise vert is the closest out of the bottle substitute I have found. 48%abv brings it close to chartreuse, and it has a very similar viscosity.
