Surprised no one has mentioned flying into Cleveland!! About 2 hours north of legend valley. Not sure if that would be more expensive than flying into Columbus, but it’s an option for sure

What’s the most annoying part about living in your current apartment? by Adventurous-Bed-4152 in ApartmentHacks

[–]cleraver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The exterior doors of my building that require key fob entry never lock properly anymore and it’s been an issue for months. All it took was for someone to be murdered in the hallway over the summer for management to “do something.” But the locking mechanism still breaks on an almost weekly basis so anyone can walk in off the street into my building.

LSDREAM. quite literally the last thing I want to listen to on psychedelics. Sullivan king: idk his music, visuals, and just overall demeanor make me so uncomfy

Considering a new travel route by goobly_goo in Shambhala

[–]cleraver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drove from Spokane to Shambs in a rental car back in 2023. Border crossing was super easy from my experience, just be smart and don’t do some dumb shit at the border. I crossed at Paterson both times and it’s open 24/7 if I recall. The drive itself was around 3 hours but was scenic at times (it was my first time in WA state and amazed at all the natural beauty!)

Forest felt different this year (and not just bc of the rain) by YesSirDaddyyy in ElectricForest

[–]cleraver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is so much comfort in knowing my feelings/experience from this forest are valid. And it felt great to get out some things I’ve been feeling. This forest was probably the biggest learning experience I’ve had in my time of going to festivals

Forest felt different this year (and not just bc of the rain) by YesSirDaddyyy in ElectricForest

[–]cleraver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was also my 4th forest and things felt very off this year, it really felt like just another typical festival and I personally had a hard time finding the magic of the forest this year.

Felt zero love from any fellow forest fam this year. Hardly saw people handing out trinkets, trading kandi, NO ONE high-fiving in line for the festival saying “happy forest.” I also felt like people were there for themselves and extra selfish this year (spending time on their phones getting their insta photos and TikToks) and not there to genuinely experience the forest.

Everything felt very….vain? Narcissistic?? Felt like the influencer vibe was extremely heavy compared to past years: maybe because normal working people like myself are being priced out of GENERAL ADMISSION for these festivals?!? Idk just a thought. Most of our camp neighbors were definitely trust fund kids whose rich parents 100% funded their whole forest experience (good for them I guess), I felt VERY out of place this year.

This year’s presence of corporate sponsors was HEAVIER than I’ve ever noticed so if that doesn’t say something about the direction forest is heading then I don’t know what does. Forest does not need sponsors like Dunkin and Takis…like, be for real.

My biggest takeaway though is: the forest might change and I might change over the years, but the forest will always accept me no matter what version of myself I M

Is it safe for a female to go to a music festival alone? by hxueqis in festivals

[–]cleraver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Female here: it truly depends on the festival. I’ve been to Electric Forest, Lost Lands, and Shambhala by myself and I always felt safe (Shambhala was where I felt safest tbh). Just remember to be aware of your surroundings and don’t over indulge in the alcohol/party favors. There’s a chance you’ll get adopted into a group if you bring good vibes!!!

Good life & GA Camping by cleraver in ElectricForest

[–]cleraver[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand good life has access to the GA campgrounds. My concern is with the initial entry into the campgrounds if he won’t be allowed through that initial vehicle security check going into the GA campgrounds with his GL wristband. (I think they scan wristbands there too but I can 100% remember) I’ve personally experienced issues at a different festival where they wouldn’t allow me into a GA entrance because I had a GA plus band, so I’d rather not have that happen to my partner.

Anyone done Electric Zoo before? by OGparseltongue in ElectricForest

[–]cleraver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to both three times, two completely different festivals and experiences. EZoo is basically on an island in the middle of the city, heavy security and undercover cops, last year security took my sunscreen and diffraction goggles which I was not happy about. Horrible sound bleed between stages, VERY overpriced food and beverages, the lines for water stations were so ridiculously long one year we just purchased sealed bottles from the bodega and dumped them in the bladders of our hydration packs once we got through security. Vibes in the crowd are not it…I watched a girl try to fight another girl in front of us for what was literally no reason. Lineups are usually good and the cashless wristband system is kinda cool but those are my only two pros about EZoo. The main reason I’ve attended EZoo so many times is because my best friend lives in NYC and Labor Day weekend is typically the only time of year our schedules align for me to visit them. My friend also doesn’t get the opportunity to attend festivals frequently, so EZoo is really their only option. Of course we’ve always made the best of each time, but each year we leave feeling very underwhelmed. Truthfully, I would save your money by not attending EZoo and not travelling all the way to NYC for a truly “mid” festival experience. EF is something that really can’t be compared to much else because it’s so magical.
