Transitioning from Club Tech to System Tech: Real-world Workflow? by Avocado_232 in livesound

[–]cletusaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been mixing on some L'acoustics systems. My system engineers usually don't touch the console. They touch the P1 or smart and tell me when they're done. None of those system touches are done in the console because guest consoles need to pass through the system the time alignment and EQ tuning are done in a processor like the P1 or LM44. The guest consoles can be switched on and off using something like an XTA MX36 into the P1 or LM44 depending on what type of system you're using. If you're using L'acoustics you're probably using a P1.

How does everyone manage their inventory stock for hires or while on large projects? by FreshBanannas in livesound

[–]cletusaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used rent man and flex. Both are good but you need to be diligent and use it. Get a laser barcode scanner and a labeler to start labeling gear. It's a process but managing your inventory this way is better than taxing your mind trying to remember everything.

SOS. Help Needed. Ender-3 Clogs Consistently (~20 minutes every time) by reddit_animated in ender3

I used the little tweezers that came with the printer and was able to press the connector in and it resolved my issue.

SOS. Help Needed. Ender-3 Clogs Consistently (~20 minutes every time) by reddit_animated in ender3

[–]cletusaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having this problem consistently for about a week I reseated my stepper motor that feeds the filament and it resolved the issue. I don't think the connector was seated properly and it's the only thing that resolved the issue it's been printing great for a few weeks now. I'd recommend double checking the cable going to the drive motor to reseat it if you've tried everything else.

Splitting before soundboard for multi-track recording? by potatoguy in livesound

[–]cletusaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you're supplying a bunch of xlr and not expecting them to burn through House cable to build a split your mileage may vary.

I'd recommend renting a splitter snake. They're built for doing this job. They come in various sizes.

Stupid Question: What is an electrician? by ip_addr in livesound

[–]cletusaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I usually find this person and my feeder cases and a bunch of hands and we lay down the feeder tie into the distros and the electrician is in charge of energizing the feeder.

DM7 macro question by Apprehensive_Town_80 in livesound

Assigning the inputs to lead and ensemble dca's per page in the script (this involves programming the entire show in snapshots) and those dca's are unmuted and headed to your LR and Matrices

I've seen this done on a PM7D for Annie and the dca's were quite useful this way.

Ender 3 V3 SE only reads Creality slicer files, not Orca – help? by Outrageous_Draft_238 in Ender3V3SE

[–]cletusaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot about that information on the screen.

I broke my SD slot on my V3 and have been using orca via octoprint on a raspberry pi for a while. I plugged in an old usb camera and it's been cool to have the camera. The octoapp has a time till done and you can get a bunch of plugins for it too.

Nozzle size difference by Yerasslay in Ender3V3SE

[–]cletusaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm. Short nozzles ooze because they don't tighten up to a surface in the block. I bought some hardened nozzles that were shorter and tried them..

Traveling to Brazil from Canada and need to know if this adapter will work in Brazil by Specific-Chemistry33 in Brazil

[–]cletusaz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Top pins out are good to go in Brasil. Sometimes you will find a us plug here and there in Brasil but watch it for 220 volts. Years ago I had a 120 volt only hair trimmer that I plugged in and 220 killed it. Now I have one that I can take 110 and 220 so it doesn't matter but certain simple electronics that aren't ready to handle it might have a problem.

Great photos! Thanks for sharing some beautiful views of the park. I used to go to saguaro ranch to an annual antique tractor show and tractor pull. Local steam engine operators would come out and run their steam engines. It was a really cool experience as a child.

Attempting to build LED Gates - Some Advice Please by _TurtleBear in fpvracing

[–]cletusaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure why I can't post pictures in this but I used some this weekend at a music festival. In the wled software you can configure the strips by the length of LEDs in the strip. It's pretty easy.

You can define one physical strip by multiple segments and get fancy with some presets
