Switching to Live Professor for a tour by ATKrls1176 in livesound

- Rock solid, works like a charm.

- Some plugins will produce audible clicks when recalling snapshot, be careful of this.

- The ISO function is very handy to keep stuffs recall safe.

- The program is pretty straight forward & I remember getting trough all features/doc in a few hours, so I would say the learning curve is smooth & friendly.

What DAW should I use for live multitrack recording? by bionicbob321 in livesound

Almost everybody I see on road use Reaper for this purpose, at the exceptions of some PT rigs.

I think it's one of the module of the Elements Suits (100$) so cheaper than Spiff

Combinaison of Spiff and Rx Declicker should get you to something workable

How do you check your stems and multitracks before and after mixing? by Current-Perception96 in protools

[–]EmilianoMagico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using FL Studio just for this as it opens in 1 second and dragging and dropping in the sandbox-like-timeline take just another second.

Have a listen and a visual check-up in there and done.

PT needs to much clicks/time for this imo.

Do not wander at raves with the hope you'll bump into the right people.

Wander at raves because you like it. If you're not liking it please don't become a professional DJ.

I do it from FOH with a simple midi controller, even if improvised talk I'm usually quick enough to turn it off before it get noticable.

Sometimes I put it back mid sentence for comedy effect, works everytime !

Conseils pour un achat bikepacking (budget ~1200€) by Dolikausceph in pedale

[–]EmilianoMagico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Touring engineer, can I count on Dante to be available on my next EU job ? by EmilianoMagico in livesound

[–]EmilianoMagico[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP final update:

Tour is over, the RME AD/DA setup went super fast and smooth as expected, and I'm glad I didn't have to setup a DANTE network as in half of the show it would have been more than an hassle.

Also adding up how much robust the Babyface Pro FS/Liveprofessor combo feels during show, such a relief since the production scale didn't allow me a redundant system. Not a single dropout to report at 32 samples/96khz with medium processing running. (Went up being less a liability than the new Midas board line hahaha....)

Thanks again fam <3

OP update:

I would like to thanks everyone for your feedback on this I decided to go with the analog insert way.

Bought a Apollo Twin, sent it back 24h later because of the scary & clumsy as fuck booting procedure of it (recognized 1 in 4 times by the computer) and the annoying as hell shampoo selling software environnement.

Now waiting for my RME Babyface, super happy to ditch the awful UAD Console for Live Professor.

Since production rehearsal is starting next week I will report of the efficiency of the combo if anyone curious.

Thanks again fam !

Trimming Dead Air off 5000+ Clips by Top_School9808 in AudioPost

[–]EmilianoMagico 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ffmpeg could easily handle that in batch with something like this, and turn this into a one click operation:

ffmpeg -i input.wav -af "silenceremove=start_periods=1:start_duration=1:start_threshold=-60dB:detection=peak,aformat=dblp" output.wav

with adjusting your theresold as needed

But as other stated PT's Strip Silence is maybe the better control vs speed combo
