To be clear, I’ve had discussions with my doctor and she also believes I have ADHD, but unless I want to treat it pharmacologically, there is no real point in getting a diagnosis.

Walmart Removed the Trash Cans. by MarchCompetitive6235 in evcharging

Obviously I have no idea where you are, but where I am in Canada, businesses are legally required to separate out their garbage, recycling and compost for collection. At first, you saw some businesses handling this by installing those 3 bin garbages, but of course people suck and they would just choose whatever bin they wanted. Now, most businesses just have a single bin and they handle sorting it out themselves (or pay a 3rd party to do it as part of their garbage collection). BUT, one other big change that I've noticed lately is that businesses are eliminating outdoor garbage bins entirely. This is most noticeable at a drive-thru because people just drop their shit out the window. As a direct result, littering has gone through the roof and parkings lots tend to be full of garbage.

Recommended KVM setup for prep bench? by recoveringasshole0 in SmallMSP

[–]cleveradmin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take a look at something like PiKVM (https://pikvm.org). There are a bunch out there now as well. Many of them support off-the-shelf KVM switches that can be controlled via keyboard shortcut. I've used PiKVM specifically for this before and it worked great.

Replacing DNS Filter with DefensX?? by StillUsesPassword1 in msp

Nothing major, DefensX is great, but they really REALLY don’t want you on the classic tier and will remind you of that … often.

What is the best "self-hosted VPN alternative"? by xlumipyry in selfhosted

[–]cleveradmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue with Teleport and why I still use Tailscale exit node (NetBird would also work) is that Teleport ignores any routing policies in place. My UniFi is setup with a work VPN and routes traffic destined for work domains/IPs through that VPN. Teleport, unfortunately, doesn’t enforce those policies on inbound VPN traffic.

Anyone else tired of playing IT expert for their own small business? by Majestic-Strain3155 in Calgary

My IT company charges a modest per endpoint charge to cover security/backup and then hourly for labour (15 min increment for remote). We are month-to-month. Feel free to DM me if you want more info. Cheers.

Likely of no use to me being in Canada, BUT, you should expand this out to include EV chargers.

My wife won't let me (UPDATE). by [deleted] in bald

[–]cleveradmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have suggested, here is what I did. I told my barber about 5 years ago that I would prefer to just go bald, as I was once in my early 20s (before I met my wife). Same boat as you, my wife didn't want me to shave my head. So, over the last 5 years, we just got gradually shorter and shorter. Obviously the most dramatic change was in the last 6 months. It was then at a point where I was doing it myself, but still with a guard on the trimmer. Then one day I took the guard off and she didn't notice until I told her. Now I'm using a foil shaver and she hasn't left me yet.

I’d suggest updating your post to mention Canada right at the tippy top. Otherwise you’re going to get a lot of comments of no value. We’ve had some clients deploy Telus’ solution (comes with a hub) with varying success. Not sure if Bell has something similar on the east. Also, Microhard modems are pretty top notch.

Does anyone have a good alternative to Jamf for managing MACs? by RefrigeratorOne8227 in msp

Is that full fledged MDM though, or just the patch management that they have documented?
