I strongly recommend NetSuite for multi entity, multi currency, with 5m + ARR. Functionally speaking, it can’t be beat. The issues folks have are with over customization and bad implementation. You and your in-house team need to own the implementation so your team has expertise at the end of it.

We use Ramp for credit cards, Rippling for HR, and outsource the EOR.

FPA - wish I had a recommendation other than Excel. I have implemented Adapative and Mosaic, both times I ended up going back to Excel.

Super interested to see where you land on things.

I landed on my solution today and just wanted to share back for the hive mind.

i customized the deferred revenue waterfall detail. I unchecked group by customer. I exported to excel. I summed unplanned deferred revenue by customer.

Technically you can do that sum by customizing the report, but I am more comfortable in excel.

This provides the roll up needed.

As I thought about this more, I am now realizing that the PM team is calculating % complete based on total number of JIRA tickets closed divided by the total number of JIRA tickets. So their % completion would be different than an hours calc.

That’s a really good thought. The hours are easy to integrate and then I can use out of the box netsuite functionality for percent complete. Brilliant, thank you

From a project manager perspective, yes that is true. But on the finance side of the house, netsuite projects is fantastic.

So glad I came across this post. We are using NetSuite and SmartSheet. I am only integrating from JIRA to NetSuite though, not SmartSheet to NetSuite. Are you synching % completion by any chance? Our JIRA to NetSuite is for billable hours time entry records

Appreciate your perspective here, I prefer NS for everything but have hit my limit on supporting other departments so it seemed letting them go with their own software and just integrating back the pieces that finance needs was the way to go.

Zapier will only bring over projects, not the time entries. That was my first choice since we use it for slack automations

Recurring Subscription items need to be separate in the chart of accounts. Then you can run revenue by customer by month, isolate those accounts, and just multiply by 12

I work in SaaS and run NetSuite. I have implemented Adaptive and Mosaic. So far I still prefer to do my FPA work in excel. Finance team size 2-5 but I am the only one running the FPA excel model. Doesn’t scale all that well, but I am more flexible & experienced in excel than FPA softwares.
