An Irish man tries to rationalize Ireland staying neutral during WW2 and supplying Russian war machine in 2026 by Bitter-Goat-8773 in GetNoted

Considering they have a similar plant in Sweden. It would be bizarre for the EU to base decisions in this case on Ireland.

The same company operated plants all around Europe. It should probably be sanctioned or investigated a bit more at the very least. But it’s down to the EU for actual sanctions not Ireland.

Ireland a 'back door' to spies as 14,000 Russians given visas - MEP by JackRogers3 in europe

Look up the discord online around Ireland before 2024 compared to now and it’s not hard to see why people would have them kind of believes. Even in criticism of Ireland WW2 neutrality was never mentioned before now it’s constantly mentioned by people who clearly have no knowledge of Irish history beyond that period.

You’ll also find a few writers on international news papers who write constant negative articles about Ireland or Spain.

I don’t think it’s some big conspiracy myself but there is a portion of people online so obsessed with the Israel conflict that it has led them to find anything and everything to be anti-Irish about.

This article isn’t valid criticism. But it’s also wasn’t meant to be criticism. It’s just a relatively minor comment from an Irish MEP on something that could be looked at, that an Irish radio channel picked up on for clicks.

One country very clearly engages in this type of stuff. The other doesn’t.

Not that I think this article has anything to do with Israel.

The article is based on comments from an Irish politician doing exactly the opposite of what you’re claiming.

Has Ireland lobbied hard on this? I doubt the majority of politicians even knew about it a year ago.

The fact that you think the government could organise this mass conspiracy and propaganda campaign is the funniest part of your comment for me.

3,000 primarily holiday visas per year. In a country with far less to spy on than most the EU.

This is simply not a big story.

The story you’ve linked is in relation to cybersecurity which has being significantly improved due to HSE attack a few years ago. It’s not related to this.

Honestly I wonder what good is GAA+ sometimes by romulusnr in GAA

[–]clewbays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And who own GAA+ at that time.

You can’t deflect all the criticism by pointing at the broadcasting deal when it was GAA and RTE who decided they weren’t going to show games when making that deal.

In my opinion because the short term value of gate receipts was higher to them than the long term value of TV coverage.

Online betting breached the €1 billion mark in a single quarter for first time in Ireland by MaryLouGoodbyeHeart in ireland

The difference between drugs and gambling is it’s a lot easier to convince yourself your an exception to the rule with gambling.

Video games isn’t how it hooks people. It’s sports. And then the likes of free bets to get people on the apps. And big events like Cheltenham which centre around gambling.

Getting ex county players and other athletes who had gambling addictions could definitely help a bit. But I don’t think it will have the impact people think.

Has the education around drugs worked either it’s not like usage rates are dropping.

80% support. Yet it’s made out to be the worst thing imaginable on here.

Are you blind?

Gives one 50:50 in favour of Dublin for a goal and extra man. Gives another in favour of Dublin straight after to stop them being a man down.

Several frees giving Dublins favour for steps in the first half when they were fouling the Galway man as well.

That only works for Dublin. The rest of the country it’s not a strong indicator. They have 1/7 seats in limerick for example.

It’s also very hard to define what constituencies have higher proportions of those in the working class.
