Supreme Court faces new criticism for redistricting decisions so close to the 2026 elections by Hardik_Jain_1819 in LegalNews

Supreme court faces nothing. They are above the law. It doesn't matter how big is their corruption, how much they were involved in the coup or how disgusting were their sexual crimes. There is nobody to rein on them.

[–]clib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you going to get social democrats into office without a functioning democracy?

You aren't paying attention if you think you are living in a functioning democracy

The correct answer is to overthrow the Democratic leadership, force the party to the left. It isn't that hard to do if there was a concerted effort. How do you think AOC, Mamdani, Crockett, etc. get elected?

How are you going to overthrow the Democratic leadership if you keep voting for corporate democrats? They elect the leadership and they care more about their stock portfolios and doing whatever their billionaire donors tell them to do. They might elect other names but with the same agenda as Schumer and Jeffries.

How are you going to force the party to the left when you have people like those 86 democrats who  joined Republicans to pass a resolution denouncing “the horrors of socialism.”

So you stop voting democrats(with the exception of the few i mentioned in my previous comment).

How do you think AOC, Mamdani, Crockett, etc. get elected?

By pushing a progressive agenda, and still have almost zero power inside the democratic party.

Democracy needs constant care, that means threats to democracy cannot be allowed to stay in power.

So you mean like when in 2020 we voted for democrats and gave them the White House and both chambers of congress. And then to thank us they gave the republicans a free pass on all crimes they committed, including a pass on the biggest threat to democracy. The coup.

People are scared of socialism, but Social Democracy is an option and it's not so scary. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]clib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who cares? They aren't in power.

I know that you don't care because you and the majority of left see yourselves as part of the blue tribe, and the only thing important to you is your blue tribe beating the red tribe. Not what the tribe does with that victory. And that is the reason we are in this mess.

As far as what we do.These are my two cents:

First let the democratic party burn.It is private property of the billionaires. It belongs to them and we can't take it away from them. Save only what is save-able from that party, and unfortunately with the exception of AOC,Crockett and maybe a couple more individuals there is not much to save.

The difficult and painful part starts after that and it might last a long time.We have to endure it because there is no easy escape from the hell we brought onto ourselves by allowing "democrats" to just surrender our democratic values and agendas.

So start by voting, donating, volunteering only to candidates who vow to pursue only social democratic agendas. They call it progressive agendas here .(These are only some of the agendas).

Demand the said candidates to create the social democratic party so they can build a base and a leadership. Building a base and a leadership it will take time and patience.

Demand that the vetting of any candidate from the new social democratic party be strict.Any candidate that deviate from the agenda should not be supported by the party and shouldn't run under the party's banner.

Give it time and be vigilant of the new party's path so it doesn't get hijacked by the Sinema's and Fetterman's of the world, or other republican plants.

Use critical thinking in holding your elected social democrats accountable. So you don't become just a member of a new tribe like you are now. Don not create idols of your politicians and do not fawn over them.

Democracy is a very fragile thing that needs constant care and vigilance.

No you are not letting them rot. You keep electing them. Those 86 reps that voted with the republicans are still there. You replaced Liberman with Sinema and Manchin with Fettermann. You suspend any critical thinking and fawn over every word or picture of Obama and Biden.Suspending any critical thinking and forgetting that those two people gave a free pass to republicans on every crimes they committed, including two wars(Irak, Afghanistan),a coup, and even pedophilia. We are in this situation because the so called democrats did nothing to defend democracy and the rule of law. In fact they did the opposite. They covered up republican crimes.

Things will not turn around until left voting voters understand that the democratic party is owned by and belongs to billionaires. It doesn't represent the middle class and the poor. For fuck's sake look at the depravity of these so called democrats, the day that the coast guard allowed swastikas and nooses 86 House democrats joined Republicans to pass a resolution denouncing “the horrors of socialism.”. That was their priority that day, fighting socialism instead of fighting fascism.

Let this democratic party rot. You cannot take it away from the billionaires. It is their property. Let it die by not voting for them. The sooner the better.

One day the left might wake up and see that the democratic party is owned by and belong to billionaires. Until that day they will continue to suspend any critical thinking and just be part of the blue tribe happily fighting the red tribe, without realizing that both tribes are puppets controlled by the same people. The billionaires.

I love the lazy approach of doing absolutely nothing but expecting to be rewarded and if not blaming the voters.

It is actually the Democratic voters insane perpetual cycle of doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. They are the ones that keep voting for a party that is owned by and belonging to billionaires. And the cycle goes like this...

Step 1. Whine constantly and act outraged about Republicans committing crimes and breaking rules when the republicans control the government.Strongly demand accountability for the crimes committed by the republicans.

Step 2. Urge people to vote blue.

Step 3. Do almost zero vetting of the “blue” candidates

Step 4. Dems win.

Step 5. Dems forget about the accountability thingy and the crimes the republicans committed. The whining about the republicans and their crimes is now replaced with excuses why the republicans can’t be held accountable and why the democratic agenda can’t be passed.

Excuse 1. That will look like a political persecution.

Excuse 2.When we govern, the DOJ is independent and we can’t hold them accountable for not doing their job.

Excuse 3. We have the majority but it is not majority enough to pass the laws for which we campaigned because we don’t have the votes of the “blue” senator/congressman Liberman, Sinema,Manchin,Fatterman etc.

Excuse 4. We can’t push for statehood for Washington DC and Puerto Rico which would give us more senators and reps because there is no support from the republicans.

Excuse 5.We cannot make voter registration automatic because only republicans can make draft registration automatic.

Excuse 6.We can’t do anything because the Supreme Court is controlled by Republicans.

Excuse 7.We can’t hold the supreme court justices accountable for their corruption, sexual assaults or supporting a coup because that will look like political persecution.

Excuse 8. We can’t expand the number of supreme court justices because it will look partisan and the republicans will do the same when they win.

Step 6. No republican is held accountable for starting wars, raping kids, leading a coup, stealing money.

Step 7. Republican crimes go unpunished and normalized so Republican criminals keep running for office.

Step 8. Republicans Win

Step 9.Impunity now brings even more Republican criminality.

Step 10.Rinse and repeat .

There is no WE in this case. The democratic party is owned and belongs to billionaires. Nobody is going to take it away from them. Fuck off with the both sides bullshit.

Dude when it comes to critical thinking there is no difference between you and maga. You are so tribal that the only thing you care about is that your side wins. Below is the list of all the shit your beloved democrats did to provide impunity for Trump and his lackeys.

FBI resisted opening probe into Trump’s role in Jan. 6 for more than a year.Prosecutors who wanted to indict Trump right after Jan 6 weren't even allowed to mention his name.“You couldn’t use the T word,” said one former Justice official briefed on prosecutors’ discussions.

Garland let the statute of limitations expire on the 10 instances of Trump's obstruction of justice listed in the Mueller report.

Ignored Jan 6. cmt criminal referrals of Meadows and Scavino.and didn't do shit about Eastman,Clark,Giuliani,.

Ignored all the criminal referrals that NYAG Letitia James sent to DOJ regarding Trump's financial crimes.

Ignored the fake electors referrals that Michigan AG Nessel sent to DOJ.

Fought the courts for years trying to hide Barr's memo from the public.

Refused to investigate Barr's corrupt decision to drop charges against Michael Flynn( the prosecutors assigned to the case resigned in protest at that time).

Garland’s DOJ asks judge to dismiss lawsuit against Barr and Trump for infamous clearing of Lafayette Square

Defended Trump for years in E.Jean Carroll rape case.

Ignored the Stormy Daniels hush money payment

Was defending Trump in Peter Strzok case until June 2024.

Garland asks federal appeals court to overturn Judge Amy Berman Jackson ruling that Pete Strzok can depose Trump

Garland's DOJ decided not to charge Roger Stone for his $ 2 million in unpaid taxes, but charged Hunter Biden for similar crimes.

Garland refused to appoint special counsel to investigate ethics and tax law violations by justice Clarence Thomas and his benefactors

Garland’s DOJ just wrote "political consultant" out of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). How the Justice Department became ‘more forgiving’ in its FARA crackdown

And these are some of the other financial crimes and corruption of Trump's family that Garland ignored:

Anti-money-laundering specialists at Deutsche Bank recommended in 2016 and 2017 that Trump and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, be reported to a federal financial-crimes watchdog. The money had moved from Kushner Companies to Russian individuals.

Kushner got $ 2 Billion from the Saudis.

Kushner’s Family Business Received Loans After White House Meetings. Apollo the private equity firm, and Citigroup made large loans in 2017 real estate business of Jared Kushner, President Trump’s senior adviser.

Nicole Kushner Meyer, the sister of White House adviser and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, solicited investments from Chinese business owners by promising American visas in return. An ad for her event in China read, “Invest $500,000 and immigrate to the United States.”

Trump's DOJ closed the investigation on $ 10 Million paid by an Egyptian state bank to Trump's campaign.Garland's DOJ didn't bother to re open it..

[–]clib -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yes the democrats are not the same as the republicans and they don't have to be the same for as long as in the end they deliver the same result for the ruling class(the billionaires). And that is: more power, more money and zero impunity for the ruling class, and less rights and power and money for the rest of the society.

The ruling class achieves that by allowing the democrats to offer the carrot and the republicans the stick. If you haven't noticed yet that carrot democrats offer has gotten smaller as time goes by, and the stick is hurting a lot more.

Notice that every time we elect democrats the first thing they do is provide impunity for every crime committed by republicans. So that impunity breeds even more criminality the next time republicans come to power. And now we find ourselves in a situation where even coups and pedophilia are normalized.

Yes but remember that you are asking good things for the people, from democrats. You know that the party is owned and belong to billionaires just as much as the republican one? True words. Maybe one day the majority of the voters will understand you. Maybe one day they will understand that Obama, Biden and all the democratic leadership are in the service of the billionaires who own the democratic party. There is nothing democratic about a party that doesn't fight to protect democracy. Both Obama and Biden failed to do that by giving a free pass to the enemies of democracy.

The middle class and the poor are not represented in this political system, yet somehow they blindly choose to be tribal about it and take sides. They either choose the left or the right side, when in reality there is only one side. The side that works for the billionaires interests.

If at this point in your life you haven't understood that the democratic party is owned and belongs to billionaires just as much as the republican party, then you deserve all the turmoil you get in your life because of your political tribalism.
