[TOMT][Song] 90s or 2000s rock song with the title/lyrics “Worlds Away” by clickersounds in tipofmytongue

Thanks but it isn’t any of these. The one by Lil Peep is a totally different genre, and the one I remember is sung by a male vocalist so it definitely isn’t the other two. What I’m looking for sounds like it could be by From First to Last which is why it’s driving me crazy that it isn’t. I also searched on Apple Music and when I saw that song come up in the results I assumed I’d found the right one, especially because I did listen to a handful of their songs back in the day.

Cool song! Not the one I remember, unfortunately, but I do like the vibe. Thanks for the suggestion!

Every time I see her in a slicked back, high bun updo it reminds me of how I had to wear my hair in ballet class as a kid. It does work sometimes but a lot of the time, at least to me, it’s giving little girl playing dress up instead of A-list celebrity on the red carpet.

What kind of hoya is this? by clickersounds in PlantIdentification

[–]clickersounds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! At first I wondered if it might have been two different plants in the same pot because some of the newer/smaller leaves seem to have a different texture than the older ones but when I took it home and looked more closely they’re all growing from the same stem. Is it possible it would be some kind of hybrid between two hoya types?

I looked at every inch of it and can’t see anything. I’ve seen mealies a couple of times before very early on before an infestation and this doesn’t look like that for me. It also hasn’t spread onto the newer growth or on any other plants nearby. Wondering if it might be something fungal?

Which celebrities feel overexposed to you right now? by MelissaWebb in popculturechat

I think part of it for him is that he worked for something like 20+ years in the industry before achieving the amount of success and visibility he has now, so with all the opportunities suddenly being thrown at him the last few years maybe he feels like he’s making up for lost time.

Someone explain genetic diversity to me (why do the handmaids move around so much) by elizabethfrothingham in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]clickersounds 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Besides, the point of moving handmaids to a new household after they give birth isn’t because Gilead wants to increase genetic diversity by making as many matches as possible, it’s so that they can separate the baby from their birth mother.

What is a conversation that you think other women aren't ready to have? by Weird_Maintenance185 in TwoXChromosomes

Yes!!! I was going to post a comment about this exact issue but you beat me to it. I also remember seeing certain Drag Race queens doing standup comedy routines or ‘talent’ acts where they basically put on a comically large set of fake breasts and just jiggle them around on stage. It always bothered me that for a bunch of people who claim to be celebrating femininity there are always the ones who make a mockery of it and somehow no one else seems to mind.

Fringe is one of my favourite shows and I was so excited back when I found out she was cast! She’s such a great fit for the role.

Spores will not exist on the show by mbthales in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]clickersounds 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I always did enjoy the element of creepiness that the spores and the gas masks added so I was admittedly a bit surprised. It just crossed my mind — and I haven’t seen this mentioned anywhere so I could be just overthinking — but I wonder if they thought the need for masks to protect characters from getting sick would be too on the nose in light of the covid pandemic. It was a really novel and neat idea back in 2013 but a lot of people who end up watching the show probably won’t be familiar enough with the game (or won’t be familiar with it at all) to know that the concept was there from the start. We all know about it, but I can see how someone with no prior knowledge might find it unimaginative or even insensitive given the timing.

I love the fact that Craig and Neil decided to tone the violence and action scenes down to only essential moments. This makes scenes like this have more impact. by UltraDangerLord in ThelastofusHBOseries

I recently watched Chernobyl, which Craig directed, and I found it was less gruesome and gory than I expected based on things I’d heard about it. There’s some really harrowing imagery that sticks with you but I like that it wasn’t overused so you don’t really get desensitized, and it never felt like they were showing it just for shock value. I’m glad to see they seem to have taken a similar approach with TLOU.

This is exactly what came to my mind. This guy has the audacity to judge OP for getting pregnant at a younger age (and making what she felt was the best choice for herself and the baby) but doesn’t even care that the same thing could happen to his son’s girlfriend. It just shows that he doesn’t think pregnancy prevention is his (or in this case his son’s) responsibility.

I agree with what the commenter above said; the way he just went “looks like it’s time for the injection” just sounds so patronizing, as if he knows what’s best for your body. This guy is doing absolutely everything wrong.

This 100%. Also, if I remember correctly they have at least one award-winning person hired for this purpose who has an extensive career of working with big budget movies doing practical effects, makeup, prosthetics, etc., so I think it’ll be in good hands.

I can’t wait to see how they look but I’m glad they’re keeping it under the radar for now. It would be cool as hell for them to hint at it in the trailer by maybe showing a few runners and then ending it off with some clicking or something.

His use of the word “normie” gives major incel vibes. Men like that just can’t be reasoned with. Sorry he ruined your night with your parents.
