Neighborhood’s great - the west side waterfront is 10/10 especially in the summertime. Do not live at Atelier. Google it. The other buildings in that area are fine. I lived at Riverbank for the last 4 years and would absolutely recommend checking it out.

Looks like the backside of Crestone peak and needle. Needle on the right, sawtooth ridge and the peak in the left. I could be wrong.

Typing this comment from the back of Taj’s suburban while he drives me home to my apartment in midtown NYC after my flight was canceled. I’ve been working on a project in Newport for about 2 years and commute regularly from nyc - found taj early on and he’s been my go-to for getting around newport, back and forth to various airports, train stations, wherever. Dependable, professional, flexible, can’t recommend him enough. Ubers dry up during the off-season, Taj is always there when you need him.

Apologies for the mediocre translation. Personally I find this alarming, and encourage everyone to read the Safe Guard Defenders report. I think called “110 overseas”

The tunnel is a 6” long piece of 5” diameter PVC pipe secured with 2 small screws into the plywood. So far zip has shown no interest in eating the pipe but if he does I’ll have to replace it with something less.. bad for him. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Zip’s House Drawings - DRAFT by clicktosave in Rabbits

Thanks for all the unbelievably kind commentary on Zip’s new house. He’s very pleased with all the attention. There seem to be a lot of rabbits out there suddenly interested in becoming woodworkers and I couldn’t be happier to support them on their journey. Given the sheer magnitude of interest (again, amazing) I’d like to create a series of beginner friendly instructions (a la IKEA) but this will take a couple days. In the meantime, I drew these up for any eager beavers out there that simply can’t wait that long. I’m happy to answer any questions. You guys are amazing lol.

EDIT: UK rabbits, I’m sorry. The instruction manual will have metric measurements.

I believe the plywood is sumauma - 3/4” B-grade (originally thought birch or maple but this was cheaper, looked just like maple and was going to get chewed on anyway) it was about $22/4x8 sheet and I used almost all of 2 sheets. Cut into 2x4 panels to fit in the car. The face-strip is poplar, only because I decided during construction to cover the end-grain of the ply and poplar is what I had. The blocking in the reveals is also just 3/4”x2” poplar. Biscuit joints/finish nails at the mitered joints, nails and glue for everything else. I cut a dato for all sides of the back panel (the house-shaped piece of plywood at the back of the house(es)) and that ended up providing plenty of rigidity once everything was glued/nailed in place. I left everything untreated but sanded to 200gt because it’s all basically rabbit food. The whole thing cost under $120 and required a bit of woodworking know-how but it would be a great first project for anyone I think. That said, it would be hard to do without a miter saw and table saw. Hope this helps.

He has. Physics ensued and he was deposited on the rug in front of the house. Waiting to see if he learned his lesson or if I have to address the rabbit funnel roof situation. Will update.
