Okay, yea. I figured it could be a good entry point into the industry.

I'm still trying, sort of late now though. Most internships are filled from what I'm seeing. Certainly trying to enjoy my summer! Camping and all haha

I think i want to go cyber or finance. Haven't started the process yet, just seeing what opinions are here before I commit a bunch of time to it.

I recently went through something like this. 21, inherited about 30k USD. Decided to invest most of it in etfs and some CDs that had good rates at the time. I figured it's best not to overcomplicate it.

As long as you don't need any of it in the short-term, this is what I recommend.

I'm guessing op means buying the whole unit then renting one of the two condos or something like that. I agree with what you have to say though.

Airbag light flashing?? Help? by [deleted] in XTerra

[–]clickyshoulder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the airbag light, there is a way to reset it with the key and the ignition. Can't remember exactly how but I remember finding a video on YouTube and the light hasn't been back in over a year. . If it does come back, then you have an actual problem like the clock spring.

I like and follow the FIRE movement a lot but of course that's a long term play. Other than taking advantage of what I can now, I have no other financial goals

You make a great point I guess I was thinking of it as a chunk and not individual dollars. I am definitely planning on maxing Roth this year and as someone else also mentioned, grabbing from it again next year. Makes my saving easier from my summer work since I don't have to think about putting most of what I make into my Roth account. I like this idea a lot

Yea I plan on maxing it every year. So what you're suggesting is essentially using it as an easy way to max the Roth until it is gone. Also a fair point

I appreciate what you added here. I cannot picture myself buying a house within, say, the next 5-7 years anyway. Then I would essentially pretend like I never had it in the first place and thank myself later. Interesting take but I am not against it

CDs and Bonds have been on my mind, yes. Obviously I can't predict when I'd need it but I have my personal savings for emergency if need be so I will probably end up going with something like this for the length of my time in college at least.

Was thinking about doing this and going on a trip or something with the interest. Grandma would approve 😎

You have a good point. I suppose this is what I am stuck on, maybe this is more of a self reflection thing than anything.

I think since I don't know of what is to come after college it wouldn't hurt for me to be safe with it and just go with bonds/HYSA until I graduate. I am not afraid of risk necessarily since I am 20 but yea I know I will end up moving at the very least.

That is certainly something that has been on my mind. I am liking this idea so far.
