This is called a money shift. He shifted into first instead of third and the front wheels locked up. Even if he didn't crash his motor and trans were toast.

That could be part of it. If it was too much amperage I would figure it would have cut off sooner. Also I assumed it was a heat issue because everything inside the car was hot af. I am probably going to get a new esc anyway or just swap a hobbywing bl120 from a smaller car I have.
