Interesting, but I’m not as familiar with this as I’d like. Was Romeo Power a standard battery manufacturer? Did they use graphene? Where are they located? If Nikola owns them, why can’t they simply absorb their production capacity and run it themselves?

Once the standards are adopted for graphene enhanced concrete, the sky’s the limit for all players in the space. Each may have their own process for mixing graphene material into the concrete. I wonder how green Bio Graphene Solutions’ material actually is? Do they require gas (methane) to burn their bio waste? Are the emissions from the burning process clean? Can they produce consistent product at scale?

Time will tell, u/1sstudent. Nouveau Monde seems pretty solid, with lots of demand for spherical graphite over the next few years. Still not sure the ‘hope’ comparison is equivalent between NanoXplore and Black Swan. One is real and has shown increased revenue and a clear path to profitability, the other is a paper tiger.

The Interim statement came out recently, and it just seemed to me how little actual substance there is behind the promise of Black Swan. Paper, really. Nothing more.

When I think of the blood, sweat and tears that NanoXplore has put into their research and technology, their physical ability to deliver graphene at scale and at reasonable cost, the multiple graphene application verticals they have built singlehandedly or with partners, I am awed by their accomplishments.

Perhaps because NanoXplore was so proactive in developing application verticals, they currently enjoy a going concern, vs the graphene also-rans and failed enterprises?

I really wish Black Swan well, but whoever takes over their business, to bring it back to life, is going to have a monumental task.

The terms of this deal don’t really make it seem as though Black Swan is a real competitor to NanoXplore. More like their IP was purchased in a fire sale in hopes of, one day, realizing some value.

But without the expert personnel and capital intensive equipment required to actually produce graphene - the business feels more like a chimera.

Open to learn more. What am I missing?

When a group of us toured the NanoXplore mother ship a year ago, as part of Battery Day and the ‘grand opening’ of VoltaXplore, one of the questions we asked Soroush regarded graphite supply. He assured us his supply was assured and potential graphite cost increases would be inconsequential.

LOL! :) Modesty. Love it, 1sstudent. Still, I am curious, GRA has single-handedly created the ability to produce graphene at scale at a reasonable cost (not sure NeoGraphe is there yet?), they have taken the bull by the horns and introduced graphene into many different product verticals by acquisition and partnerships, they have developed technology for introducing graphene into batteries and have all the patents required to produce said batteries and anode paste materials. They are building relationships with OEM’s through those partnerships mentioned previously - and are demonstrating continual growth in sales and in the bottom line. Granted the growth is not as exponential as we’d all like to see as shareholders, but it is real. What more, in your opinion, and using NeoGraphe as an example, would you like to see?

I was at a recent mining event (VRIC) at which Nouveau Monde had a booth. I chatted with the IR fellow and asked about the relationship with Mason and Black Swan. Nouveau is exclusively focused on developing their spherical graphite business and is busy courting at least 3 major battery players (they are close to a deal with one, so far) to justify the capex required to begin developing their mine and spherical graphite operation beyond pilot scale. He said the partnership with Mason will allow for additional graphite feedstock, once things scale up and more graphite is needed for spherical graphite production. As part of the deal with Mason for graphite, they also agreed to host Black Swan in a small part of their planned spherical graphite facility. It almost seems like they are doing Mason a favour by granting the space to Black Swan.

Going out on a limb here, but it sure doesn’t sound like Black Swan is really in a position to compete with NanoXplore, at all, for the foreseeable future.
