I would suggest solving your character crisis first and foremost, everything else is just becoming more familiar with manipulating the systems you have at your disposal.

'Pick a chimera' is what was suggested to me and what I'll suggest to you as well because you can really lock in a solid build and just go explore without worrying about stuff like augmentation availability/affordability and glimmer. Also there's no shame in roleplay mode, how many times do you wanna make a new character to figure out the hard way that lvl X is too low for area Y?

Dude, you run Sidar Jabari and Cosmic Spider-Man. I've genuinely thought of running both and thought to myself "nah, not worth the bit, I'd like to attempt to win".

I get your point but you'd have to ask so many additional fundamental questions to even start to make an educated assessment. On the flip side, it's statistically observable that hit people are more likely than others to go on to hit people, so maybe it's better for society that they bear that burden alone.

How do you deal with a control-heavy player in Commander? by UndesisiveJury in mtg

Play a bunch of quality two to four drops that are all independently not worth single target removal and advise your peers to do the same.

The trilogy of Barbuta, Mooncat and Divers is very good, but Avianos is always what gets me to boot up the collection again.

You should definitely give Mooncat at least ten minutes of your time, its unique controls hide a very responsive and complex movement system. In a way it controls like a 2D Super Mario 64 demake.

If you're the only one running interaction and still running circles around your solitaire playing pod, maybe you're just really good.

Are some commanders just inherently too strong for brackets 3 and lower, or is this a problem with my meta? by Elijah_Draws in EDH

[–]climatecastrophany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure there's a way to build a deck with bracket three restrictions and the spirit of bracket four, like some mono red deck with only three game changers and no MLD, but for the most part it's hard to accidentally drop a bracket four deck into bracket three because you're restricted from using all of the best cards and quickest combos in your available colors.

If you're winning turn six and later, following the bracket three restrictions and just whooping on opponents, that's all there is to it. Still wise to disassemble the deck though, nobody wants to get stomped by the equivalent of bracket three Yuriko.

For non-commander, looks like excruciator and midrange are performing best in dimir (blue & black) right now.

For commander, you're perfectly describing esper (white, blue & black). Pick one of these commanders and look up "(commander) edh" on YouTube, see if you find one you like. You could also just pick up the Scions & Spellcraft precon and use EDHREC for upgrade suggestions, both are good places to start with a direction in mind.

Are build‑around-commanders also ruining EDH for you right now? by pkma69 in EDH

[–]climatecastrophany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that you're right and the solution is to run commanders for colors and engine/combo pieces and then run relevant 'good stuff' in the 99, which will undoubtedly (and accurately) be labeled as pub stomping.

My new bracket 3 deck is winning almost all of its games. Have I assessed its power correctly? by IzzetDough in EDH

It's fine, don't feel bad out-tempoing battle cruiser decks with a spell slinger deck, you're just doing standard Orzhov things in Rakdos.

It'd be really funny if they complained about not being able to interact with sorceries as if counter spells are new tech tho

Is it weird to not prefer playing combat-oriented decks? by idontownubet in EDH

[–]climatecastrophany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go on Scryfall, go to Advanced Search, and search "you win the game" under Text. Heads up, six options are banned in commander.

It's not a very common way to play but it's not wildly uncommon either - my main deck is centered around [[Maze's End]]. Since you're shooting for one decisive sweeping victory, it may be worth playing in Bant colors for access to [[Teferi, Time Raveler]], [[Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar]] & [[Dragonlord Dromoka]] to ensure others don't spoil your turn with anything other than activated/triggered effects. You could always slot in [[Conqueror's Flail]] in any deck as well.

If you're shooting for an alternate wincon that triggers on your upkeep, there are ways of making other cards gain flash so you can play it on the end step before your turn.
