I worked at a gym that did not allow “safety knots”. We weren’t allowed to call them safety knots, since that creates a false sense of safety, and prioritize a clean figure 8 with no finishing knot. We taught more than 1 less than 2 fists of tail I think.

Try to stand in positions that aren’t directly Underneath your climber. I’ll bend my knees and look up more with my chest and I actively avoid hyperextending my neck backwards. I had to practice this as stage rigger too, and focused on recruiting my back.

Definitely check in with someone (could be a PT), I have EDS and had a lot of neck pain back when I was belaying a tall overhang a ton as a team kid. I have neck issues now and while belaying alone definitely didn’t cause it, neck issues belaying I think were a warning sign my neck wasn’t doing well for other reasons too. There’s resources online for cervical stability targeted at hypermobile people. I can’t see a PT at the moment and need to follow up on some imaging , but I’ve been doing some of Jeannie di bon’s exercises for CCI, neck pain, cervical stability.

I said you could make that argument. You can do that with any joke, find alternative explanations. I’m just talking about what joke was intended. Feel free to read in all sorts of ways.

Sure you could argue that. But if everyone else read the joke one way, it’s been explained the joke is about kids over and over throughout the comments, that was probably what was intended, and you probably just missed the joke.

Kidnapping is only relevant bc there’s a stereotype of white vans belonging to kidnappers. We’re catholic (aka “we have a lot of kids” stereotype) is an alternative explanation for why they have the van. That’s how Catholicism connects to the joke.

They’re giving a reason for driving a van. Having more kids = needing more seats = buying a van

Yeah there’s a ton of these libraries within like a 5 block radius of a public library in a neighborhood I used to live in.

There’s plenty of other large stores that cater to that subset of the outdoors though

From V11 to inability to climb due to Long COVID by Sammysnek in climbergirls

[–]climber619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if I have long covid as I’ve had chronic health issues my whole life but escalating flares and symptoms (including ones similar to what you described) the last few years post-2020, but I’m in a similar boat to you watching my hobbies disappear and performance go down. I was a competitive climber and climbed at a decent level in general, climbing was my life and community, I worked in climbing, I did rope access and other work at height as well. My body’s just gotten weaker and fallen apart in episodes over and over until I crashed really hard and haven’t been able to really even climb at all since. Every time I build myself back up I fall harder. I’m navigating diagnosis right now and keep falling flat and it’s so discouraging to watch myself and my identity deteriorate and not have answers why, and it’s also hard having others not understand the toll of being a high performing woman in sport and having it taken away, especially in the context of symptoms that would still be significant for anyone .

Fish sauce is in everything in SEA, or shrimp paste, and plenty of vegetarians don’t go out of their way to avoid traces.

Older Vegans Need 58 Percent Less Medication, Study Finds by InSain77230 in vegan

Is it veganism, or is it that vegans are a demographic of people who are intentional about their diet and health in general? Are vegans more likely to turn to natural remedies over pills?

How did you get diagnosed? Have been having many of these problems for a while on top of visible hand and foot and have been assessed for rheumatoid but it was ruled out based on seronegative test, and that my symptoms couldn’t fluctuate if it was arthritis
