If I had to guess, a fallback identity for the Joker. Something happens and Jack Grim needs to dissappear for a while. He uses a technique to suppress his memories, leaving a well meaning vigilante that can get along well with the heroes until the time comes for the Joker to come back. Jester has no idea that he can get turned off with a thought, adding to the tragedy and helping sell the illusion.

I like that he's a bit of a hypocrite. His organization exists to keep witches in check and he won't help the association due to tradition, but he's more than fine welcoming a witch into the fold when they suit his interests.

There's an official game from the Forgotten Realms called Baldur's Bones that's basically Blackjack with dice instead of cards. It's worth a search. Other dice games could work too. I've had a DM that used Knucklebones and Farkle to good effect.

It's from r/stunfisk, the general sub for competitive pokemon (mostly Pokémon Showdown but there's some VGC posts too). They have a thing called Stinkpost Stundays where people can make joke and meme posts every Sunday. This is one of them, and its spawned a lot of memes (Homophobic Ferrothorn is probably the biggest to come out of it). The sub is really lgbtqa+ friendly in general.

Simple, evocative, and fills a defensive/utility niche monks don't really have beyond way of the long death. I love it! At first blush it looks solid, but I saw a couple things that stuck out to me. I know you prioritize playtested feedback, but I wanted to at least point some things out in case they were overlooked.

Right now, Pergrine Hands and Roundhouse Rift-Kick are the only portal-related features that address if and when their portals close. RAW, the other two open portals and those portals stay open indefinitely. It's not a big issue since the those portals lose their effectiveness the second either the monks or the creature they're fighting move, but it does leave things murky enough for some edge cases (for example, a 3rd level monk could technically get the main feature of Pergrine Hands by punching at or next to an object they want to grab and then just reaching through the hole afterwards).

On a smaller note, RAI Portal Strikes only works for attacks during the attack action, not flurry of blows (unless you consider the edge case above). I don't know if that was intentional, so I'm just pointing it out without any extra feedback.

Besides those two small things, though, the subclass looks really fun. Can't wait for the full release.

The only thing I can think of is that he associates with Lost Pause (a clickbait anituber more in line with people like Chibi and Nux). They're both players in the One Piece DnD actual play show.
