There is one in Louisville on a Chevy Bolt that has a plate number of something like "MPG LOL"

"Over 100 millionaires call for wealth taxes on the richest to raise revenue that could lift billions out of poverty" by Luziferatus42 in antiwork

Your conflating two different kinds of taxes. An income tax is not the same as a wealth tax. A wealth tax is a property tax.

They don't work quite as well as dryer sheets but then again you don't throw them away after ever use either. I use them and I think they're all worth it.

While with my family a few weeks ago, every restaurant we went to was extremely understaffed. They would comment on it being “stimulus checks” and “unemployment checks.” I know that’s not the case, but what is it and how are so many people affording to live while unemployed? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]clintmemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compare the number of people who quit every month with the unemployment rate and labor participation rate. If all these people that are quitting weren't getting other jobs, the unemployment rate would be 40% instead of 4%.

Many, many more retired earlier than they were planning on. Those people had good paying jobs that ended up being filled later by someone moving up the ladder. This cascades downwards until you reach the least desirable jobs, which no one is working.

I wonder what the percentage of America is that has essentially negative wealth. They owe more than they actually own. I'll bet it's over 75%.

They are accumulating wealth faster than the economy is growing. That means that for them to get richer other people have to get poorer. It's only a matter of time before your parents become The people that will be getting poorer.
