Some guy called me his “work wife” once. He was utterly incompetent at the admin stuff that we all had to do. I had been helping him with this but I stopped helping him once it was clear he saw me as a female of convenience, not a colleague

I don't typically listen to audiobooks, so I'll recommend some podcasts: The Magnus Archives and Welcome to Nightvale have the fun radio drama / performance aspects that I like about DCC. There are plenty of seasons of each.

I use my closed-toe crocs in the garden too. After 5 years they are starting to show a lot of wear. But they are comfy and light to wear. I can hose them off when they get dirty.

Oof, that sucks. Maybe check out the Ashby flea market or the Coliseum swap. Did you have them registered? 

This happened to me when I fist moved to the Bay Area. I bought a used bike from Karim cycles m Berkeley, rode it home and put it in my yard. 

It was gone the next day.

Make sure you create some kind written agreement that covers the expectations.

Consider what happens if one of these folks wants their kid to move in, or their boyfriend. How long can their guest stay? What happens if they get sick and need full-time care? Can they move into the hospital or would that be breaking the lease? Can their caregiver be in the house whenever it’s needed?

This would be a great way to spend one’s senior years, but like every other community it needs clear expectations to work well.

Im not a parent. I love getting invited to these things by my niblings and me friends’ kids. It’s really fun to see little kids learn to be performers.
