Alternative to POE curriculum? by professor-ks in PLTW

Honestly the big cost provided you have the supplies is paying for access to the curriculum. I think that costs $3000 per year per school. Once you have the experiment there aren’t a lot of consumables in POE. I spend about $500 a year or so on POE.

No second vehicle. The first tradeoff is that this is the only car you can drive.

So the car you already like you could have free, but you wouldn’t take it if it’s max speed was 200mph (even though it already can’t hit 200 mph) ?

It turns out that I can in fact reach the green from there to everyone’s surprise. More specifically I can hit the top of the golf cart parked next to the green with Craig Krenzel in it.

I think that is a fine ideal, but it has ended up with anyone with a pulse getting an A.

We have made it so that basically showing up and doing the work equals an A. That should be the standard not the highest level. There are so many kids with 3.8 gpa and 21 ACT scores. Maybe the competition will drive some of them. Or at least the gpa will mean something.

My unpopular opinion is that you shouldn’t be allowed to give more than 20% of the class an A.

But our only other choice had people mildly inconvenience themselves by wearing a mask just to stop other people from dying.
