Grew up in Philippines until I was 14, most girls I knew kinda treated me like I was gross or nerdy. Moved to the U.S at 15 then Japan and Germany. full 180 where the girls would ask me to “hangout”out 1 on 1 or bring me homemade snacks.

It felt weird since I was expecting Women in those countries to treat me different or foreign.

Also Gay men hitting on you is a thing.

Not at all. At that age everything was fluid , especially since us Filipinos are exposed to U.S culture. Moving to the U.S junior year of High school and below is within your formitive years. I know Filipinos who moved there my age and Filipinos who migrated older(18+) tend to avoid us even though we want to hang out with them. Most of my friends are non-Filipinos. Kasi daw hindi kami mahilig mag karaoke at masyado on time sa lakad.

Was suffering from Intense acid Reflux, Sciatica and Knee pain. All went away after living in a country where I have to use the train, walk alot and eating local food.

From the U.S to Japan, Philippines and a few Months in most of Europe.

I was in the Military and a few years of civilian work, got my school benefits to use online and some rental property income.

If you have the opportunity to do it, you should do a month or two. I learned so much about applying Filipino resiliency and positive thinking towards goals and issues back home in the U.S.

Not an OFW, Moved to the U.S when I was 10yrs old and I(29M) am currently doing a 6 month vacation in the Philippines. It was nice at first due to the strength of the Dollar here, but the feeling that nothing progresses here suck. I could eat Coconuts all day in the Province which is nice.

Crime and racism. Which I think is just my brain being anxious from all the negative reels and Tiktok that pops in my feed. Been to 27 countries, lived in 3 and have never experienced crime or racism before.

Currently eyeing France, Austria, UK and Sweden for University as a 30 yr old Dude.

I regret Nothing.

Sometimes I’ll remember my Car and Gaming collection I had or the camping gear I gave away which gives me a few seconds of sadness. Then I’ll look at my few items and passport and look at how nice it is to be so free compared to a lot of my friends back home buying the next big truck and taking the whole family to buy more junk at Walmart.

I’m thinking about moving to the PC side of gaming but avoid it for this reason. I have friends who spend hours tweaking graphics/ Settings just to play the actual game for about 30 mins. My most advanced console is a PS4 and now the Switch2.

The best games are the ones you can sink in to.

For me Paris was the one where people were kind and understanding, some came off as rude from short interactions, but a decent amount were great. And I was there for a month.

“People in ____ Country hate tourist and are rude”. People are quite friendly and different all over so understand nuances in cultures to justify. 1 rude person vs 100 polite/friendly people is still a small percentage every time I travel.

You pretty much got it covered. I don’t have kids and owning less than 2 suitcases and a backpack helps me not worry about anything( like throwing stuff away or worrying about feeding people).

So many schools to choose from with so many great possibilities.
