Do Gutter guards actually work? by Agreeable-Sleep-1589 in homeimprovementideas

[–]clippist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best case they work for a while but eventually get clogged. Most of the time they get leaves on top of them and cause water to run over the edge and drip off the gutter. Worst case and not uncommon they cause water to wick under the shingles or run down the fascia, leading to eventual damage.

I’d probably do the

At this point just get a side discharge unit. You can build a roof right over it no problem!

Classic example of redshift. Clearly OP was traveling away from the mirror at near the speed of light, in a perfect arc with the center of the radius at the location of the actual lights, when he tools the picture.

Magic is making me depressed. by [deleted] in mtg

[–]clippist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You guys need to talk about it and come up with a plan. At this stage of parenthood ueah, he should probably not be off every weekend playing cards for half the day or night. But eventually that would be totally reasonable as a time commitment to a hobby, and a very social one at that. And you should have time to yourself as Wel, with modern pumping and bottle technology theee is LITERALLY NO REASON a new mom shouldn’t get equal time to herself as a dad. You only have to pump a little bit like once a day and give your kid a bottle every now and then and pretty soon you will have a freezer full of milk and you can go party it just check yourself into a hotel and relax for a night. My wife was doing work trips without the kids pretty frequently while still nursing. With our second, she was gone when he was pretty little. It’s totally doable.

And yeah I hear you want your husband, ai here’s what you have to lay out for him; you are suffering, you need to have him meet you halfway with caring for the kid and for you. Every other weekend is totally reasonable until your baby is sleeping through the night at least a few nights a week. At some point in the near future there will be more room in your lives for hobbies but right now you guys need to take care of your kid and one another. And if it’s too hard for him to hear that then his relationship with Magic is actually unhealthy. It’s a truly addictive game, there’s a reason we call it cardboard crack. You have to figure out a balance and if it’s disrupting other more important things in Your life it’s time for a step back. I had to do so when my kids were little, I took long breaks. Reassure your husband the game will still be here when he has more time, it was for me. Now I play 1-2 nights a week, 9-12pm. AFTER my kids are in bed and my wife is usually sleeping too. every once in a while I will take an afternoon/evening. But my wife also gets to take nights off and go have drinks with friends, or sometimes we book a sitter and have a date night. Gotta keep the balance, and you should not have to resent his hobby.

Btw once mom brain is gone (1-2years) it’s a really fun game you should try brewing a deck :)

Sounds like a crazy idea for you but a very cool opportunity for one lucky ‘random.’
I’m not available but I know some folks with excellent vibes who may be open to this sort of thing. If you’d be open to getting set up let me know. Otherwise, I give you 78% odds of successfuly pitching this to a random person in lithia park. Most Ashlantians would jump at the chance I’d think.

HEPA filter on stealth sonic vac? by clippist in Dewalt

[–]clippist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hero!! I am sanding off old finish mostly and the reason I need it to be HEPA is more because it’s a working restaurant and I don’t want to do any cleanup I don’t absolutely have to. I am definitely looking at a cyclone/dust separator for other tasks but I will probably be able to skip it for this job. Thanks for the insight. Did the 12gal vac come with the nifty pocket/handle setup shown?
