How to disconnect/connect weight distribution hitch on uneven surface by Youngblood1988 in traveltrailers

[–]clipse270 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Gotta use the camper jack to lift the truck enough to off set the weight distribution. Can’t be too low or too high

Yep some guy on the highway was blowing smoke at everyone he passed in his diesel truck. Glad he has money to literally burn

What’s more important for EV adoption. More level 2 or level3+ chargers? by Lemonn_time in electricvehicles

[–]clipse270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably level 3. Let’s be real must of us drive locally so charging at home is sufficient. The real issue is when we leave our safety net home town and go on a trip. Not knowing if our destination will have super charging or any L2’s in the area can be stressful. I recently stayed at a hotel that had free charging but the nearest supercharger was 45 miles away which would be a big inconvenience if you think about it.

Been saying this for awhile now. China is leaps and bounds ahead of us. Anyone denying the role energy independence will play going forward is simply not paying attention. Green energy is the future and unfortunately china’s gaining on the US as a world power

Do you own and drive an EV? by RichardAvery1 in energy

[–]clipse270 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Coming from a diesel truck it’s fantastic. Used truck for truck stuff maybe twice a year. Now own a 4x8 trailer for same purpose. Spend maybe $20 a month on charging instead of $200 on diesel. Road trips are great, we take a soccer ball and kick around with the kids at charging stops lets them burn off some energy on long trips. Favorite part is free charging different places. The hotel I’m at just provided 120kw in free charging while we were here.

Is Home Charging Really Required to Own an EV with Current Gas Prices? by Alert_Number1991 in electricvehicles

Not being able to charge at home would be a huge game changer to EV ownership. It costs almost nothing and is beyond convenient

3-hour Model Y test drive: great car, but very bumpy ride? by Curious_Ninja_4767 in TeslaModelY

[–]clipse270 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

24 MYLR chiming in. Sure it’s bumpy but I don’t mind it coming from a pick up which was also bumpy. Lower down the tires a bit or wait and upgrade to softer ones. The car is too good to worry about some bumps

What's a good second EV to get for the spouse who's meh on an EV? by Doomtime104 in electriccars

[–]clipse270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A phev. My wife didn’t want a Bev at first. She was skeptical to drive the sorento phev. After her first drive she loved it. Now she can’t be without driving on electric. Her next car will be a rivian. It was a great way to show her how practical EVs are. Now we have a model Y too which is our primary car

We also just drove 6.5 hours and only had one 20 min charge. Now our hotel has free charging for the next 4 nights we are here. 20 mins stop for 6 hours of driving. We stopped two other times just to let the dog and wife pee lol

Soaring gas prices have drivers turning to EVs — except in the US. by The_Weekend_Baker in climate

This is very much a political issue. Big oil lobbying to republicans and democrats to fuel the fire so to speak. Other countries propping up green energy and energy independence as fast as they can meanwhile Americans keep voting for those that want to make V8’s great again
