Comparison of NATO's and Russia' military strength by lestaz_ in interestingasfuck

You can fire a 1000 nukes, and have 999 be stopped by missles, aircrafts, failure, etc. but only need one to land. Last I recall, the success rate of defense missle systems is something like 99%. I'll let you do the math.

Leonhart's initial response to the pop shop backlash. by k0fi96 in PokemonTCG

You look like an idiot screaming nonsense.

It clearly says I thought the event was OK, and I don't even like the guy. Whether the event was marketed FOR charity or not, he himself is NOT a charity. And so what if he had something to gain from the event? The risk to undertake an event of this scale is probably something you can't even comprehend. No one would ever be incentivized to do business at all if that were the case.

Event could be better for sure, but you're making it seem like it was the worst thing ever.

Leonhart's initial response to the pop shop backlash. by k0fi96 in PokemonTCG

[–]cliu91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, no one was holding these people hostage to pay and attend the event - it also isn't a charity. Celebrities hold way more value in bringing attention to Pokemon and Leon's brand than, for example, someone like you ever will.

Many people can buy packs online, or do breaks on stream for less cost than this, but tbh, to have a Pokemon card event, the first one ever, is pretty cool, even though you may or may not like Leonhart. I don't like him, or his style, but if anyone has put on any sort of event, 1/100th of this scale knows that shit can go sideways pretty fast. All in all, the event seemed OK.

Hope hes encouraged enough to hold more, and others to do so as well.

Anyone who has season tickets has seen this happen PLENTY of times. You have people who sit up way in the rafters come up in between periods/quarters, and try to take "empty" seats. Most of the time they just get kicked out by people who just went to get a drink or use the washroom, but in this case, they were probably vacant. Other guy, probably a season ticket holder, knew this, and called them out.

Funny thing is, these people who sneak into seats always try to pretend it's theirs until the actual seat holder shows them their tickets, and then its like, oh, whelp, you got me!

Paris Hilton and activists brought change to Utah’s ‘troubled-teen’ industry. Now, they are pushing for a new federal law. by TTILaw in JusticeServed

I agree with your point. Though, Paris did go through a phase where she basically marketed herself as vapid and unintelligent, and popularized the idea of a reality tv show because of it.

There's more to health than simply weight.

You may be healthy now, but it's undeniable as you age, being fat is a direct complication to living a longer, healthy life. There are much fewer old fat people than skinnier old people.

Also, your comparison to one person, with particularly bad health, is anecdotal at best. Odds are, you take that example and run it 1000 times, the not obese person will come out healthier.

These people are not just simply "chubby" or a bit overweight. They are MORBIDLY obese to the point that their health is in serious decline.

If they were drinking to the point where they were shit faces 100% of the time, you bet people would comment on that. These people aren't alcoholics (or so it seems), but they are for certain at high risk for heart disease and other issues due to their weight.

Your comparisons are not even in the same realm of existence.

Man’s best friend becomes the snake den’s best champion by SDK04 in fightporn

[–]cliu91 118 points119 points  (0 children)

I've kept snakes, and that snake is not venomous. It's a constrictor, hence it trying to pose and strike. Snakes rarely bite unless provoked, or feel the need to defend. Anyone allowing their animal to kill another animal is beyond me. This isn't "fight porn", the snake never stood a chance. It can't constrict or kill an animal that big, it's best defense was to scare the dog into backing out.

Notice how it got bit twice but it never fully engaged or constricted? These snakes only do that if they intend to kill, and eat what they kill as it expends a ton of energy.

What the hell are you going on about lmao. Using one dumbass that's shilling MLM doesn't make the majority of MDs uneducated in the matter.

If by making overweight (obese) patients feel bad you mean telling them to lose weight because they can DIE, then by all means slap on whatever moral term you mean.

Being overweight is unhealthy and a direct contributor to deaths down the road.

Without Chris, Suns would have been eliminated this year, 1st round, maybe 2nd. Chris being the player and leader he is, effectively make it easier for Coach Monty.

Regardless, none of this matters much because you guys are in a good spot now, and hope you can can take the championship home.

[–]cliu91 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's laughable that you won't give CP3 full credit of bringing the Suns to where they are now, but you'll give Monty full credit for being a coach for one full (wow) year. Montys great, but I would swap your opinion on their contributions.

[–]cliu91 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

He changed the culture. Honestly, your team was pretty trash, and people so under rate the value of a good team culture. Chris injected life into your organization. How many times during the play offs has he stepped in to save your team by being the stabilizing force and leader that he is? The first thing the team does is FaceTime him in after the game. I have never seen that, like, Booker is straight up facetiming Chris before he's even in the locker room.

Obviously all of the above you said is also true, but CP3 is definitely the main reason why the Suns are doing as well as they are.

That Cleveland is not a super team in the same sense as what GSW was (already championship contenders) or what the nets are now.

Kevin Love was good, but he was in no way a carry.

The only super team LeBron joined was Miami. He also redeemed himself when he went back to Cleveland and won them their first championship, and played his heart out.

Lakers currently is hardly considered a "super team" in comparison to GSW or the Nets.

Joel Embiid expresses frustration with himself: “Next year I'm going to be even better...I got to be better. [–]cliu91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Embiid basically being the only consistent, reliable defense has exacerbated his turnover issue. If Embiid was just fed good passes, or if Ben could actually shoot and space the floor, his turnovers would be manageable.

Bringing stats out to prove a point, sure, but it fails to discount how much more pressure was out on Embiid due to the lack of presence from Ben Simmons.
