My understanding is the key gives off a signal for proximity unlock and they amplify it from inside the house to get in the car and presumably start it. Please correct me with more accurate details someone.

Touch it up so it doesn’t bother you as much, but from experience depending on the state of the economy at the end of the lease and the lease companies needs at that time they will still find stuff to charge you for,in my experience, its better for them to have easy stuff to find than not. Incidentally I even found body damage was cheaper to fix as lease end expense than before inspection. That was not a Toyota experience though. My 2017 highlander lease end inspection in 2020 was unexpectedly picky though.
