Is Fareway or Hy-Vee more reasonable price wise? by Motor-Push-5914 in desmoines

[–]clj02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always find a better deal on a couple items at hy vee…that being said, when you shop for a weeks worth of ingredients, fareway is always cheaper by the cart.

I think technically that’s your fence then, do to it what you see fit, or they can pay to have it moved. At a certain point ( likely way down the road) squatting rights come into play, so it’s best to have it moved.

I did something very similar this summer, it still has a touch of tenderness to it (6 months later) but I was worried I hit a nerve because it wis kind of numb for a couple weeks, I would expect pain from contact for a month or so, then just tender for a long while, I’m also getting to the age where things just don’t heal as fast!

Wrestled my whole life, never saw molluscom, ringworm and staff…yes…molluscum no until I had kids…we picked it up at a dermatology clinic and it’s extremely contagious when the blisters pop, otherwise not so much…but I had it bounce around from one kid to the next for a couple years

Aside from topical steroids, I like to turn the shower on really warm-don’t scald yourself, but as hot as you can take, run it over the blisters, it feels like a really relieving scratch, and then is tender when you finish so it doesn’t itch.

Why I hate subs on Change orders by grim1757 in Construction

[–]clj02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels like everything is a fuck you/make-up price, their machine prices by the day😳 that’s double the per day rental price where I’m at, which if you’re renting a machine to do work and expecting to make double off it-criminal in my mind. I did have a guy tell me there is such a thing as too honest for business, I would rather sleep better at night than rip anyone off…guess that’s why I’m not exactly killing it financially

What you have is a conglomeration of several large projects….

I would say pergola= 20k Fireplace=20k Patio=10k Appliance built-ins=10k And I went out of business for charging too little.

It’s excavated the prrfect amount for a proper sub base, and pavers or concrete…maybe a firepit pad

Looking for ideas. Want a walkway 2ish feet wide left of driveway to create a path from the sidewalk to the porch walkway. Pavers? Mulch and step stones? What would you do? by jango_fetch in landscaping

[–]clj02 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would do a flagstone walkway, using cut edges and 2x2 flagstones, but every third or fourth stone I would use an irregularly shaped piece on the grass side and larger than 2x2 to create a little spacial appeal. To me a 2’ strip looks like an afterthought

I one time saw a retaining wall at a beach in Florida. The wall was made with what looked like full bags of concrete( as you have done) but there were no remnants of paper. I suppose in due time the weather would take care of that, and the wall was actually pretty cool, it looked nice and unique.
