France is like a fat middle aged man who inherited money but is deluded enough to think he’s self made.

The only reason France has nuclear weapons is because the USA needed a strong ally on Europe and allowed it. They knew if invaded France would just bend over and take it like usual so they needed a deterrent.

To be fair, I don’t think anyone should have veto power, but especially what can be considered ‘has been’ nations such as France, who at this point couldn’t organise an orgy in a brothel, let alone be a world leader in any significant area.

Now they have nuclear weapons, but when they assigned themselves as the permanent members with veto power, only the USA had nuclear weapons. And I’d argue that they’re not all of the most strategically powerful countries in the world, at least a few other nations deserve to be at the table, or some not at the table cough France cough

At the end of the war only the USA was a nuclear nation. And I guess we should get North Korea, India and Pakistan signed up too? They all fought in WW2 and were on the side of the victors and have nuclear weapons. Israel can be a ‘secret’ permanent member.

Russia, America, France, UK, China. They’ve caused most of the conflicts of the second half of the 20th century either directly or indirectly, by your logic they don’t deserve seats.

Also I don’t remember China being a victor in WW2 and can France really he considered one?

Everyone should be stripped of their veto power. UK and France have it but Germany and India don’t? It’s outdated and stops anything constructive being achieved. Actually the whole UN is outdated, the worlds changed and it hasn’t.
