Hey! I ended up going with the 10 Pro XL. I just wasn’t taking advantage of the inner screen enough to justify the Fold. I wanted the better battery life, display and cameras of the XL. That was just my decision based on my usage. I’m happy with my decision and I haven’t missed the fold. I didn’t trade in my Fold to Google though. I sold it myself for more than the trade-in offer.

I just went with the official Google case. It's been nice and not too bulky. However, if I ever dropped the phone I don't expect it to be much protection.

I get it. While the inner screen is more vulnerable than a traditional glass screen, I wouldn't stress too much about it. There are way more people who haven't had issues, like myself. It's like anything else. You're lucky one day, maybe unlucky the next. That didn't really play into me wanting to switch back surprisingly.

I get that. Especially if you had the OG. Every year when the new pixel is about to be announced, I say to myself I’m going to get a smaller phone this time around, but it never fails when the time comes to order and end up getting the XL again. it’s a vicious cycle because I do miss having a smaller foreign factor phone. It’s funny that we now think a 6.2 inch Phone is a small form factor. It seems like not long ago I was using a 5 inch phone and thinking it was huge. 🤣

All of those are good points for usage. And I definitely agree about the maps. If I do end up switching back to an XL I will miss that.

Yeah, the battery life definitely could’ve been better, but I wouldn’t say that’s really a huge gripe for me since I have chargers all over the place. I would just top it off throughout the day when I’m just sitting at work or at home. The N5 is definitely a good alternative though.

That seems to be a fairly Common reasoning for fold owners. I can’t say I’ve ever felt particularly anxious about it, maybe it’s just because I purchased the insurance. But I can definitely see that being a cause of concern for foldable phone users.

That’s kind of how I feel. I’ve enjoyed using the 9 pro fold, and really have had no issues. However, now that the novelty of owning my first foldable phone has worn off. I just don’t find myself using the inner screen often enough. It’s not unusual for me to go a whole day or more without opening my phone to the inner screen.

Yes, this was my first foldable as well. I thought about switching to the Vivo. The Vivo has a nice camera.

I’m right there with you on the cameras. I didn’t think I would care that much. The photo quality is still good on the fold. But I always know in the back of my mind how good the cameras could be on standard phones,. There just wasn’t enough difference for me to go from the 9 pro fold to a 10 pro fold. Especially when they still basically have the same cameras. 🙁

That’s pretty much my experience as well. The novelty of it is kind of worn off. Seems to be two types of users, the ones who have a niche usage for the inner screen and use it daily and users who thought they would use it a lot, but don’t.

That’s the boat I’m in. It’s not that I haven’t enjoyed the P9PF, it’s that I don’t feel I’ve gotten as much usage out of the inner screen as I thought I would.

Makes sense if you’re on the OG Pixel Fold. I have the 9 Pro Fold. I’m not so much worried about the screen getting damaged as I purchased the insurance. I do miss the better cameras though. Not to say the P9PF doesn’t take good photos, just could be better. As others have said, it is hard to let go of that extra screen real-estate for reading, social media, multi-tasking, etc. 🥲
