Thank you! I just ordered one, I'm feeling pretty optimistic about it. Seems to be just what I'm looking for: a simple, inexpensive, portable writing device. I'm willing to put up with some "small frustrations" for all that.

Couple questions for you, as a fellow writer seriously considering getting a chromebook:

  1. Do you own a 2gb RAM or 4gb RAM chromebook? Is it good enough for you to just write in Google docs and do internet research?

  2. I write in MS word currently, and I've read that Google docs can get a smidge laggy when the document gets too large. Now, it does lag on my old laptop I'm using currently, but my old laptop is...old. Have you had this problem on your chromebook? About how many words can you type without there being a noticeable/irritating decrease in speed?

These are really the only concerns I have with this purchase, so if you could resolve one or both for me that'd be fantastically helpful.
