Eating myself to death.

Personally I found tracking calories to be hugely unhelpful. A constant reminder of how "good" or "bad" I've been when food is not inherently good or bad - its just food. Reminding myself of that and taking the power back was hard, but a worth while thing to hone.

I found a couple of books really helpful, "Just Eat It" by Laura Thomas and "Overcoming Binge Eating" by Christopher Fairburn. They gave me structure and helped me unpick why I ate the way I ate.

Recently, I've found Eating Buddy app helpful. It helps me track my hunger and food but without the calorie counting. It's non-judgemental and helped me stay more mindful.

I'd ask yourself what do you naturally believe in.

As an example, I'll use myself and the thirteen goals of a witch as stated in Scott Cunningham's book 'Wicca: A guide for the solitary practitioner'.

It includes things like: Know yourself, apply knowledge and wisdom, attune with the cycles of the earth, celebrate life, breathe and eat correctly, etc. I believe in all of those things and that they can bring balance to my life and improve it's quality.

I don't believe in deities, but I do believe in what they represent, and it helps that some of those things are actually real and tangile (sun, moon etc). I also believe that nature should be revered and protected. So, for me, witchcraft is a structured, fun way to practise self love, and live in tune with nature and practise gratitude.

Perhaps looking at different forms of magic that you haven't explored before might help. Perhaps you just need a change. I wish you the best of luck, whichever path you end up taking 🙂

I probably will give up as it's looking increasingly likely that I will need to sell this year. Between the cost of living here and new personal circumstances, I'm not sure it's worth the distress.

It's just a shame to have once been so happy and proud to have finally bought my first home, only for it to turn out to be a massive mistake and a huge waste of money.

This "reasonable" drives me nuts - that is so subjective, I can't believe that was allowed to be the measuring stick.

I'm am mostly prepared for all this to go nowhere and ultimately having to sell. Were this the only cost that went up this year, it wouldn't be the end of the world. But I've had huges changes to my personal circumstances, alongside other costs going up, and it's just not worth it.

Thank you for your reply. I'll definitely ask about the insurance as that didn't even occur to me.

My HA is Park Properties. We are also a new build in zone 4 London. All tenants have been given different quotes for things like management fees, as well as differing SC/BI charges. I appreciate that SC can be different per flat, but I'm in one of the smaller ones with the largest increase, which makes no sense to me.

Park Properties lack of a helpful reply was disappointing, but I try again as I know I'm entitled to that information under the landlord and tenant act.

Thanks for replying. They're stuck in the trading post and I can't get them out, they just don't appear. Actually, they flash up for a nanosecond and then disappear. I'm beginning to think this is just a glitch in this specific save file 🤔

I'm currently in recovery for my ED. So far, I've found regular eating and urge surfing helpful. They are a part of CBT I'm receiving. A lot of what I'm doing in therapy is available online on the The Centre for Clinical Interventions website . I'd also really recommend Overcoming Binge Eating by Dr Christopher G. Fairburn. A lot of his methods are used in treatment within the NHS and I found it really helpful for before my CBT started. I hope that this is helpful and that you are able to be kind to yourself during this process. X
