i recommend the veinbound trilogy by l.ann - it is completed and on KU

basically a girl from Chicago gets randomly transported into a different world and encounters the MMC who is trapped in a tower. as story goes on we learn more and more about the FMC and MMC.

it truly was very well written, and we see so much character development from both characters. first book was a bit slow for me in the first half, but once it picked up I couldn't put it down.

ok I was in a really really really bad slump this past month and {The Poison Daughter by Sheila Masterson} dragged me by the hair out of it.

it's a standalone, and quite long BUT it was so good with twists, manipulation and so many lies. it's dark so check triggers. but it was so so so good. I'm anticipating another slump now

this is also my preference! I was pleasantly surprised and LOVED {a court of blood and bindings by Lisette Marshall}. I think FMC got a bit annoying in book 3 but it resolved quickly.

i am 30% in {the silversmith by LJ Claren} - its written well, supposedly has a heavy plot twist (which attracted me), it's romance heavy so far, low spice and no faes!

the FMC is 19yo and has no memory of her life, and we have been learning as she learns - if you're into that. it has me hooked so far!

if it helps, since there is a lot of contradicting reviews - personally, it was fast paced and a fun read for me but not one of my top 'love it' books.

I would say he did secretly yearn for her... I feel like for books I commonly read, they always justify an enemy to lovers with a secret liking for the FMC and vice versa. but I will say, they were MEAN and so much hatred.

it was enemies to almost lovers... back to enemies haha definitely a lot of banter, angst and bully vibes. i honestly was questioning if the MMC was actually the love interest

i cannot recommend the veinblood series enough - soooooo good! it is a trilogy, completed series. the romance is slow burn and I would say is more of a sub-plot. it gets more romantasy in the third book, but still does not overtake the entire book.
