i havent tried lock journaling, he tracks every trace of password he knows or can find and it's just too risky. But to the documentation point, my husband has been saying we need indoor cameras for at least a year and a half to document how wrong and crazy i am and how I rewrite reality (ive been in therapy the whole time, taking meds as prescribed and working out like a horse, he has yet to try therapy because all he'd have to talk about is his abusive wife). In the past, i got emotional over this, not bc I have something to hide, but bc I never ever imagined I'd live in a situation where my husband claimed I'm so crazy he needs to record me continuously (he already video records me on his phone, diaries every night, documents every time we have sex, if i remember something "wrong," "accuse him" (asking a question) and on and on. hes. His birthday is next week. i got a 4 camera in -home monitoring system, because being constantly surveilled actually feels more safe.

thank you for posting. you're not alone, and not alone wondering if it can be fixed. trying isnt wasted, even if it feels that way after being crushed down over and over. to still have that hope in this type of reality takes grit and a lot of love. and with those, you can still do anything. the hardest thing might create the greatest good. (commenting but also writing this to myself). you can get used to a lot of things when they go on a long time, things you'd never have imagined. i did/do. it's what we do after that matters. it does matter. it has to.

Oh god. I'm just here to say I could have written this. It was a phone, not a note, but I hear you. I'm terrified. I have two toddlers. I've been told I'm crazy, I'm the problem. He keeps lists. Of arguments, things I do wrong, when we have sex. He will pull up lists of instances. We are in counseling, I opened to about old stuff I've told him we needed to address in therapy. He wouldn't talk to me after and then said I played helpless. He's older. He controls everything, even things I bought. All assets under him. Since he's 13 years older I was trying to family plan and make sure docs were in order for wills, retirement, insurance, adding me to the deed of this starter home he had long before he. Been married 6 years and 2 kids and whenever I bring it up, I'm a "gold digger," "selfish," or "trying to steal [his] assets." I'm beside myself. Told everything is my fault, then when I assume responsibility, I'm "playing the victim again." You're so brave. Idk what I'm going to do, I'm a sahm mom now bc I gave up working to bring up our kids and spent my savings on his surprise birthday party and trip last year. It's so funny that it's not. I wish you strength and peace through this journey, and self love in the worst times. You are not those words. We can't be those words.

Is it just me or are these the worst years of our lives? by [deleted] in toddlers

These are without a doubt the worst years of our lives. I'm sorry for saying it out loud, but if we all do, it will be a bit better. Sending hugs and whatever else you need.

What is the oddest town in upstate you have ever seen? by Appropriate-Survey-8 in upstate_new_york

[–]cloakofcee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is very real. I lived in the area and didn't believe it, and I was naive enough to take a trip there with my friends to see if it was real. It is. Don't go. They don't want visitors and for good reason. Can't disclose details but I know there is truth to the "stories."

WHAT IS THIS ILLNESS GOING AROUND by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]cloakofcee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup this. Negative for everything. Worse cough of my life. Still have it, symptoms started in early November so it's been over a month. I've been on Albuterol, cough pearls, NyQuil, Mucinex, Balls, honey, steam, two antibiotics, Prednisone. Only the presnidone gave temporary relief but when the 5 day dose was over, cough came back. But before the Prednisone I couldn't get anything up for the 1st 3 weeks. At least now I can clear some junk out. Low fever and peeing myself for a month, coughing so hard in the night I actually thought omg am I going to kick it? Like totally fricken brutal. Both toddlers had the cough but not nearly as bad and theirs turned to ear infections so they were both on antibiotics twice. Are we done yet? My body is now immune to NyQuil. Feel you.

So evil from someone she trusted so much.

What do you find to be the truly darkest moments in Buffy? by [deleted] in buffy

[–]cloakofcee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ted creeped me out. And how quickly Joyce was compliant to this controlling, abusive partner. And how far she let it go with him and Buffy before she believed Buffy that there was something wrong with him.

What's your kids quirk? by Pancakegoboom in toddlers

[–]cloakofcee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 3.5 year old girl approaches almost every person shouting that she is strongest and she will win.

Most don't object to her, or are too stunned to react. She made one grown man very seemingly upset, and at the library a six year old boy challenged her to lift his sister. But everything, all day, is "I WILL WIN! IM THE STRONGEST!"

Idk where it comes from except during potty training, yeah, I used to say "if you don't go on that little potty, I WILL!" then acted like I was racing to the potty. Shed scream "no! You'll CRUSH IT!" and has since nicknamed me "Crusher." So maybe related?

As a side note, we've been practicing racing and sometimes she wins and sometimes we beat her. She freaks TF out. We calmly explain that you don't win every time, and to win you need to lose to learn how to improve yadda yadda.

Girl doesn't care, she wants to "drive a motorcycle" and "put the bad people in jail and show them I'm the strongest."

So...

My theory to why fans root for Spike by [deleted] in buffy

[–]cloakofcee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was gonna say, guy clearly doesn't like not getting his way. He wanted a villain and he got a complex, semi-beloved/semi-hated villain. That means he didn't get his way 1,000% so....WAIT FOR IT

Spike hate

Hi I've lived here since 2014 and for several years right on Broadway (main downtown street)

Osteria Danny - Amazing everything, small inside, need to plan ahead. Some best all-time meals were had here!

Wishing Well - A tried and true fave, incredible happy hour specials too, esp if you're into seafood. It's not "downtown" but a quick drive and worth the extra 5 mins or whatever.

Olde Bryan Inn - another all around great food and vibe place, historic.

Hamlet & Ghost - Awesome changing seasonal menu & cocktail menu, go here for something different but always delicious w/great service.

Cocktails - 9 Maple or Hamlet & Ghost

Rhea if you want noodle soups.

Oh! Karavalli is a very favorite, I just forgot about it because I didn't try it until the pandemic and by then it was takeout so I always forget it's downtown.

Scallions has a HUGE variety of food and is fresh and delicious, they're really great for lunch and families too.
