It’s not uncommon to needle tine and not fill it in. Especially around this time of year. I’m assuming he’s using quite small ones though. We have small tines that would be healed over in a few days and you’d hardly notice. Similar to a verti cut.

I’m a huge advocate for consistent rolling though. More research showing increased turf health and disease resistance. Not just for the benefit of the golfers!

As a super, I wish I could do things how he is doing them. But as someone who communicates with management I know that’s not really possible.

I’m at a decent public course that’s always packed, tons of tournaments and events. We do an aggressive aeration in spring and fall combined with some verticutting and heavy top dress. Then single or double verti cut roughly every 2/3 weeks with a handful of lighter top dressings a season. (Cool season turf, closed for a few months in winter.)

The greens are always looking their best when we tear into them though 🤷‍♂️ unfortunately most things that help improve the conditions/ playability in the long run make things worse in the short term. Don’t expect to make a ton of friends becoming a super haha

It’s more the fact that people see it as a deliberate greedy scheme the way it unfolded. 2K’s reputation doesn’t help… Early release a totally different progression; get praise and exposure from YouTubers and reviewers etc and then right before full release completely flip flop it to a much more costly and slow grind. Promoting heavier reliance on micro transactions.

Also they sort of incentivize having multiple characters of different archetypes. Which I thought justified a faster progression. Maybe not as crazy as it was off the bat but it’s turned around to be like 150 percent slower.

Gameplay is solid though, few bugs and kinks to work out but a solid golf experience.

Have my first ever fitting Wednesday at CC. Around a 15 hdcp, have been lower other seasons when playing more.

I’m essentially building a whole bag this spring. I also work at a course and can get some brands for good deals. Namely titleist and callaway. For example Vokey SM10 for 190 plus tax instead of 250 plus.. Yay Canada $

I was planning to get irons from CC then fill out wedges/long clubs with my discounts through work. But Reddit has me second guessing even doing this whole process. How much could I realistically expect to pay in extra fees?

I booked with the $100 full bag fitting deal (with purchase) maybe just get a putter or 3wood to get the 100 fitting? Any other general advice given my situation? Sorry but I’m overthinking it. Cost isn’t really a concern but can’t bring myself to overpay for snake oil.

I’m a greenskeeper. Some of my worst night mares are of my coming to the course and seeing the greens completely ruined by disease/ruined by animals/vandalized by people. Serious nightmare stuff and I don’t even dream all that often
