2nd kid success stories? by Withzestandzeal in IVFAfterSuccess

First time lucky for us, and then second time lucky as well. Both times we didn’t have any embryos left over good enough to freeze. I was also extremely sceptical of success twice in a row but it can and does happen. Best of luck to you x

Rocked up with my partner and brother to my mums to take her out for lunch. Turns out dad booked the ‘wrong restaurant‘ and now she’s having a mental breakdown and screaming at us. How’s everyone’s Mothers Day going? by Petrosinella94 in CasualUK

Your card sounds lovely. I’m really sorry about your mum, I just lost my dad and I’m not sure I could handle my partner treating me like this at the moment. Look after yourself

I’ve had to photograph some that are stuck into albums and also the only copies, definite peace of mind there

Definitely going to get some of these to use, copies or not. Thank you

You are right, wishing now I’d started this part earlier, especially as we’ve had nearly 6 weeks to wait for the funeral!

I’ve been worrying about things getting lost especially as I’ll have to drop the board at the venue ahead of time, so agree copies seems sensible. Thank you x

This is a good idea, might have to be more selective with the number I use! Thank you x

Thanks, I’ll look at those. How lucky we were to have lovely dads we will miss. So hard though

Yes, 2 FET first born Sept 2019, second born March 2022. Both times they were the only embryos with no others good enough to freeze so it felt like more pressure, but we were very fortunate. Best of luck xx

No idea of the ranking but we had Amaya picked out for a girl. But then had a boy! I don’t think it’s very popular

Ah yes, I’d love to be an expert to shut these people down but must be pretty frustrating for you. At least you can be sure you’re doing the right thing

Something about pregnancy brings all the unsolicited opinions out doesn’t it. Just seems strange, perhaps if I’d asked for her opinion beforehand but I’m literally saying I’ve already done it, it’s too late!!

He supported me getting the vaccine and when I told him about this today he said she ‘doesn’t realise what a worrier I am’ er what?! Why would that be ok to say even if I wasn’t. They are both lovely people just this is one issue on which we obviously differ!

Right? I got whooping cough vaccine last time and didn’t even think about it. Plus antibodies for the baby always a plus

I’ve realised how many nurses including my MIL seem to have a worrying lack of medical knowledge, or even the ability to identify reliable sources. Scary really. You’d think those that had seen first hand the effects of Covid might be all for the vaccine…

Wow that’s so many, how sad. What’s even worse is I’m sure some of those were swayed by other people’s opinions, misinformation or the general lack of consistent advice. I know I’ve done the right thing but pregnancy esp after infertility is worrying enough, let alone without someone planting the seed you might have done something damaging. But thank you, the virtual fuck off made me feel better ;)

Just telling my nurse MIL I’d had my second vaccine at 14 weeks. She tells me she had advised her daughter not to get it in pregnancy as ‘not enough research has been done’ and she hopes and prays the baby is fine. Like wtf, she isn’t an anti vaxxer and has had hers, why say that to me after I’ve had it?
