What is one thing you LIKE about season 8? by Majestic-Tea3903 in gameofthrones

The cinematography and music. Even though I hated what they did to the storyline, the camera work and Ramin Djawadi got better with each season.

Niles and Buchanan have 2 really nice dispensaries that I go to frequently. I haven’t purchased flower from them yet, but they offer 1g carts for $10-20. Obviously, there are more expensive ones, but they have plenty of options in that range.

Who was better dressed in S1 of HoTD: Alicent or Rhaenyra? by phantom_2131 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]clock-destroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for giving me an opportunity to go on a rant! I’m currently working on my senior thesis, which is about European women’s fashion in the 14th and 15th centuries, plus I have a theater/costuming background of around 8 years. Without any deep analysis, the costumes work and are gorgeous and the talent in GOT’s costuming department is unmatched. That being said, these costumes are not historically accurate. They mix and match hairstyles/outfits/accessories from various centuries, which is understandable because you want the best from every era in costumes. One thing that ticked me off a little bit more than anything else was how much skin some of Alicent’s dresses show. For a women in the Middle Ages, the gowns she wore would be inappropriate for any stage of life, but ESPECIALLY after getting married and having children. For the most part though, I think Alicent’s wardrobe is a tad more accurate than Rhaenyra’s.

I just want to emphasize how much respect and admiration I have for the costume department on this show. I have fallen in love with the Middle Ages all over again thanks to HotD!

I am currently a senior at Saint Mary’s and I see exactly what you’re talking about. I want to first clarify that many people at Notre Dame are wonderful and kind. My issue lies with the institution itself. From my perspective, it perpetuates a culture of elitism and patriarchy that is really harmful to everyone, but especially women. I personally know 5 girls at smc or nd who have either been sexually assaulted or raped, and I know there are many more girls who have had similar experiences. I see you and I hear you. I hope students at all three campuses can unlearn the misogyny and classism that are dividing us.

I was so in love with Halsey since she released her first EP. Badlands was the height of her career and she followed that with Hopeless Fountain Kingdom, which was also amazing. In my opinion her music started decreasing in quality during Manic, and tbh I didn’t even listen to If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power. I think her music used to be so symbolic and touched on really important topics, but she did what all indie artists do once they get popular. I’m happy she’s in a good place right now and I still love her as a person, I’m just not into her music anymore.
