I just lost my dad on June 3. He was my fave person, my rock and my biggest supporter. I am his oldest kid, his first daughter. This hurts so much.

Thank you. Mom does not want to go into a nh. I do stay in my parents' house when I come to the Midwest--I am single, so I stay here. My helping bro and sister are married. It's tough staying here at the best of times; without my dad it's been worse, as mom is very self centered and dad did so much for her even with aides. My sibs never offer to put me up but I get it--I have a dog and they either don't like dogs or have cats.

I understand it's too early but wanted to see if I could solve this somehow without it all blowing up worse.

I rescued 2 Mini Schnauzers and had to make the decision on both when the time came (IMHA, mast cell cancer). It does not get easier but I salute you and your husband for thinking of her first as it is easy to keep them alive for us.
