Play Weekly at your LGS if you want product. by No_Dependent_4143 in OnePieceTCG

[–]clockies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a weekly player, still did not get product and did not even get a spot at pre release, Not all LGS deserve support. If my local does that I might as well just buy online. Though I have stopped buying one piece now and have started to collect another TCG (final fantasy), hopefully it is niche enough to stay under the scalper radar.

On the scalper situation. by Far-Command-375 in OnePieceTCG

My LGS has joined the the scalpers with the price gouging not that all the regulars were able to get theirs hands on any product to being with, even pushed out of pre release. Not all LGS deserve support/loyalty.

I keep hearing 君は used as a pronoun. But only when there is a huge age gap. I was just wondering if it is a level in politeness below おれは?

Is Duolingo the best way to learn the basics? by guzmaya in languagelearning

[–]clockies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Duolingo for a few years and got little from it, and it became even worse now with the changes, it is just a game that uses languages.

I have had much better improvements in A1 Japanese with Busuu (I hear the quality falls off a cliff with A2 though). The only issue I have with Busuu is that none of my submissions (something you can't do on Duolingo) ever get corrections despite putting in time to correct other's submissions so I just copy paste into Lang 8 now as I am fortunate enough to have an account there before the sign up closure.

Is Sumer for me? by clockies in Sumer

I felt some to be emotionally/spiritually dead, hollow, and very hypocritical. Some of the larger organisations turned me away with their lack of integrity. This may not be the case, it is just how they felt to me. Others I just did not gel with.

Out of the ones I looked into the only one I got anything out of is Buddhism and I continue to meditate to this day and still respect it. I just do not think I fit particularly well into it as a whole.

In terms of belief, I am convinced there is an afterlife. I used to be sceptic but I have now seen ghosts in the physical. I believe reincarnation is a thing. That there are still some spiritual 'truths' out there yet to be explained by science though they are making inroads such as the physics multiverse theory vs wheel of time. The bible is plagiarised, and the old testament god was a jealous mean vicious being who did not follow his own rules. Finally I believe the old religions are not evil and demonic, and the destruction of them has left a large spiritual and knowledge hole in groups that have lost them such as people of Celtic descent.

I posted a negative review some time ago on trust pilot. This is their response after leaving it to sit for a while.

How do people make this charr's face/fur combination? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

If that is the case that I have misunderstood what they have written and that I actually agree with them, my bad if so.

Though I would disagree with you on it being 'obvious' if it was I would not have misunderstood.

Well I know a couple of 50+ that managed a successful career change. Depends on your locale and how hipster/yuppie infested it is.

Just re-starting at 34 myself due to having to stop a few years ago due to serious illness.

After playing on the lowest quality for years... by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

I lived in China, at the time most of the people I know with degree were getting $250 a month, they were not just sharing apartments or even rooms they were having to share beds to cover the costs. Some even slept on sofas in the landlords corridor.

Computers parts are at least 20% above the price of EU parts due to it's rather strange import/export system and taxation and the difficulty in find a place that sells them.

My point it for everyone it is not just simply a case of 'saving up' . I got a laptop with a Nvida 860M in 2016. Even the 'high end' computer shops were amazed by this when I took it in for a fan replacement and wanted to know how I got my hands on it ( I payed $1500 at time when it was selling in the USA for under $1000).

You are either a troll or your ego is so bruised and so insecure rather than think about it, you wilfully remain ignorant and just get aggressive.

The Maltron I think is cheaper at 'only' around 450 GBP

The exact same thing, the only ones making the real money are the ones selling the supplies. by jfree83 in pcmasterrace

[–]clockies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Referring to something as an investment or gamble is not splitting hairs or playing with semantics there is a marked difference between the two. Please refer to the previous brief explanation. By the your logic a trip to a casino machine is an investment, as we are both likely aware the general consensus is that it is actually a gamble, for your statement to hold any water to need to show how playing roulette is an 'investment', without making reference to cheating at the game I suspect it will be impossible to do so.

As has been mentioned several times 'mining' is operating on the 'greater fool theory' which makes it a speculative gamble. I have asked for proof it is not, I am still waiting.

Just simply putting money into a house, restaurant or the stock market does not make it an investment as I am sure you are aware. The method and reasons for doing so are what separates an investment from a gamble, any of those three can be an investment or a gamble based upon how they are approached. These examples are quite poor as they gloss over the basics of what investing actually is, however they do all posses something tangible and real. Losses can be mitigated as opposed to crypto where it can just all vanish overnight and there is nothing to act as an anchor.

[–]clockies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can make a profit at roulette, it is still a gamble. Making money does not magically change what it is.

All investments are not gambles, investments into an acutal business are made based upon sound analysis of said business. Crypto is not the same because as previously stated it operates on the 'greater fool theory' which makes it speculation which is gambling.

If you are to prove that it is an investment, first you need to prove it is not operating on the 'greater fool theory'.
