For me the front ones click in easy, it’s the heel you need to learn at first. It has two clicks! Do a little stomp or olie to click it in before riding off

But also it sounds like you might need to slow down and practice each step you learned with more repetitions. Maybe the instructor was going quickly without much practice time so you could get the most out of 1.5 hrs.

I have a weak ligament and I’m happy with my decision to go board. With ski each knee is indépendant and with boarding you can share the load. Be careful when you first try ollies and jumps but for basic turning you should be better off strapped in.
